Almost identical to mine but rest assured, the new Clear Prop shop will have stock of Glass Replacement kits. They are on their way and should arrive soon. The first lot are for the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4. That's what happens when you rub me up the wrong way with $120 - $180 quotes, now everyone will benefit

Yes and No, it is Chinese however if you buy from a respected dealer you can be assured that it is a clean OS without Baidu on it. For those that don't know, Baidu is the Chinese version of Google but with more reporting of your browsing habits being captured. Yes, Google does also capture your browsing habits but then you can turn this off but Baidu doesn't let you and even if it did I wouldn't trust it. This has been the issue with Xiaomi and the likes of other Chinese phones however Xiaomi is making a huge push to the western world and in doing so having anything like Baidu on it will instantly kill the billion dollar plans. I think it would be safe to say that they just can't financially let this happen. However, these reports centered specifically around one Chinese mobile phone called the Star N9500 which included other spyware

Every morning whilst having my coffee I read the latest technology news and the last few days have been stories on a little heard of Mobile Phone brand. Samsung is the highest seller of mobile phones world wide however they have experienced a 50% drop in profits this year which is causing a lot of comments and questions. The 2nd largest mobile phone seller is Apple who have had steady sales in the last 12 months however the storms brewing for them is the lack of supply of the new large version of the iPhone 6 PLUS the bendgate stories that are showing that the iPhone 6 is having a massive issue of their phones being bent when in a person's pocket. This is the only major issue that can be ticked by the store when someone returns a bent one, and there are many. The last issue is the hair gouging iPhone 6. Many users are reporting that when they take the phone away from their ear, their hair has become caught in the iPhone 6 housing causing painful hair removal every time they use their phone. The biggest story in the mobile phone market is that the 3rd largest selling mobile phone in the world is now Xiaomi. Have you heard of this brand? Not many people have however it is a Chinese manufacturer and their phones are budget priced compared to the pushing $1,000 latest mobile phones from Samsung and Apple. Watch this space as you will see Xiaomi phones coming at you from all directions and priced to make them a viable option to the non must have the greatest and latest brand hugging consumer. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S4 the other day after many many other accidental manoeuvrings that I have done with my phone which only has shown that these Samsung Galaxy S4 phones are built like brick sh!thouses however this time, it fell flat on its face on concrete. The glass is cracked in a way that I like to show off to people my new phone background image but alas, the cracks do get in the way but the phone still works perfectly. I took it to a couple of stores and received quotes to fix it between $120 and $180. Crikey, I could buy a brand new Xiaomi phone for this. But, I was clever enough to purchase a new glass screen, with a DIY installation kit for only around $15. Who is making money in this world and does a mobile phone from the top 2 brands have to cost up to $1,000 but then is this worth it just so you can say "I have an iPhone 6 hahaha" to which you could reply, "So that is why you are bald"

Optus have been having trouble over the last few day...for me, it wasn't useable for a couple of hours this morning and I am on Optus Cable but it was only for International Sites as in the server is outside Australia like Recreational Flying is...It is on the agenda to get an Aussie server but they are so expensive to get what I have now
-
I bet you are on Optus or are using an ISP that runs on the Optus backbone...they are having heaps of trouble today with all International connections
-
Totally agree with you on that one Bushcaddy
-
Actually, I should clarify the above...that is from our own dedicated server that this site sits on and is based over in L.A. in the US. Here are local tests: From the Optus Speed Test site: http://speedtest.syd.optusnet.com.au/ and here from a test site that everyone can use at http://www.ozspeedtest.com/ Mirror: Optus Data: 97 MB Test Time: 10.01 secs Your line speed is 81.67 Mbps (81674 kbps). Your download speed is 9.97 MB/s (10209 KB/s).

This site is backed up to a separate disk on the server however every week I have to download the entire site and a backup of the databases which are then installed on my local PC and then verified just in case anything goes wrong. This process takes a couple of hours every week. Doing it today I thought how long would this process take if I didn't have access to, or the money to pay for, high speed Optus Cable connection. When I download the site files which range from 100meg to 2.8gig I get around a whopping 11.3 meg per second download speed so to download 2.8gig it only takes me around 4 minutes: This made me wonder what user generally get for their download speed and thus "is the site still ok with the page sizes that it has including images/thumbnails, scripts and content" What download speed do you generally have?

MS is rushing through Win 9 due to the heavy backlash against Win 8...suppose to be released some time between Oct 2014 and April 2015

http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/stardock_start8_vs_classic_shell2013?page=0,1 but there are many on the market however whilst Start8 is slightly better, Classic Shell is free

The 3rd thing I did was to bypass the login screen of Win 8.1. To have Win 8.1 log you in automatically do this: From the Start screen type "run". Click on Run and type "netplwiz". OK that and highlight your account. Like this: Uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer". Click Apply. Then enter your password and confirm it. Click OK. Restart your PC and when Windows loads it will automatically log you in.

Oh, also Win 8.1 doesn't come with the Win 7 games. These can also be downloaded and installed into Win 8.1: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9rypo5zxfp5d767/tRhHGG6zys

I have been using Windows 8.1 for some time now however I missed the Start menu and other useability features of Windows 7 so I thought I would post what I have done to Win 8.1 to make it like Win 7 for those that feel the same as me. Here is a screen shot of my desktop of Win 8.1 with the Windows 7 start button feature: Firstly right click on the task bar across the bottom of your screen and select properties, and then click the Navigation tab. Set the settings like this: Next, download and instal a great addon for the Start Button called Start8 which only costs $4.99, (there is a free trial version), don't worry about any of the other products there unless you want Then use the settings in Start8 to create the Start Button. If you want the default Win 7 desktop picture, I have included it attached to this post. Just simply download that and set your desktop background to it Hope this helps to stop being frustrated with Windows 8.1

Internet Explorer 9 not displaying Rec Flying properly!!
Admin replied to rankamateur's topic in Science and Technology
It could be one of the scripts that could be causing the issue or our security software we use on the site. This weekend, being a long one and not going home for it, I am going to try and update it then. The forum software will be updated, the security will be updated and I will most likely be removing the chat room which will reduce the scripts as well. I will be interested to know if your issue is fixed after this. -
Your right there, the build quality of the sp is extremely good and i really liked the built in stand

Some time ago I purchased a Microsoft surface pro 2 but it only lasted a couple of weeks before I sold it. Trying to run windows on a 10 inch screen is very frustrating and near impossible trying to tap files in explorer, using drop downs etc not to mention the eye strain that limited my use of it to only short bursts...In my opinion the surface pro lacks an identity to what it is trying to be, a tablet without Internet connectivity unless you use wifi or purchase an Internet dongle and have that sticking out the side and have to carry around with you, or a very small pc that is hard to use. Yesterday I went out and purchased the mother of all tablets...The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 inch with both wifi and 4G connectivity...WOW, this ain't for the faint hearted...it's BIG and probably too big for many but there is nothing like having a keyboard this size to minimize your typing mistakes with your fingers and reading documents/Web pages in A4 size just like you would normally do on paper. Battery life seems brilliant, it's not even draining the battery...The reviews are saying about 10 hours battery life so I can believe that. The note taking capabilities with the s-pen seems extremely powerful with what playing I have done with it so far, videos are so crystal clear compared to the ipad I was using, now a good plate for my instant dinners. Still, there is a lot more exploring to do with this new toy, oops tool, to see what it's full potential is going to be, too big for a cockpit, unless you make room specifically for one and use it with aviation apps while flying, but nonetheless a magical tablet for those like me with big fingers and old age eye sight

This site is covered in many ways including the site rules where post liability falls on the person creating the post and finally if it went to a legal challenge they can have fun suing a "Legal Trust" that has no assets other than just the site content, so the site would keep going and new content would start fresh the next day...however, we do try and keep everything above board for everyone's protection as best we can

Well we have been using the Samsung Galaxy S4 phones now for about a week and I must say they are absolutely incredible phones...brilliant size, great screen and clarity and the battery lasts for ever...thoroughly recommend these phones to anyone in the market for a new one

To rub salt into the wounds and the very opposite to "normal", Corrine paid $30 less and it comes with an extra battery...wrong time though as we can't afford 2 top shelf items like these...have to get some more sponsors for the site, and quickly

Having a Samsung Galaxy S2 mobile phone Corrine thought she would get me a new Samsung Galaxy S4 which she got from Ebay however it didn't arrive on time so all she kept saying was my Father's Day present was coming and should arrive in the next day or so. This morning I was on Ebay and thought well, I might as well buy myself a Father's Day present and was lucky enough to win an auction for something that I have also been wanting I went and told Corrine that I have won for myself a brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 mobile phone on Ebay ...so much for me getting a present for Father's Day when the wife now obviously gets one as well...the only consolation is that Corrine thought I would want a white one so she got a white one whereas I got a black one...it pays to communicate to the wife on anything you are about to purchase
