I have changed it to just History
-
Okay thanks...I have created an Australian History forum for this
-
There is a line of thought that Chat Rooms and Shout Boxes take posts away from forums but on the positive side they provide a different level of interaction...your thoughts? Hobbies and History are 2 great ideas but like everything, the work load of populating say a History database would be big as what History do you list? You could go all out and have an Australian History section and then have categories that match the forums like car, Sports, Politics etc. Now say that is created...what then? How would you make the most of it like in terms of cost/benefit...the cost of effort to enter and maintain it compared to how the user base benefits from it. Your thoughts?

But who really is indigenous...when you look at the Maori's, they are regarded by many as the indigenous New Zealanders but in fact before them there were the Moriori people. The Maori's landed from Polynesia (so are they indigenous to Polynesia and not New Zealand) and took over New Zealand, actually the Maori's are cannibals as they ate the Moriori. With the exception of being cannibals and waring tribes, the white man basically did the same to both New Zealand and Australia but in a more considerate manner. If we go back far enough, who really is indigenous?

Does anyone know who has the power over Covid-19 restrictions, is it the State Premier or the Chief Health Officer? For example if the Chief Health Officer says he wants a Level 4 quarantine can the Premier over rule him?

Yay, Lachlan and I received our Covid test results back and we are both negative...the anxiety the whole family have been enduring from the moment Lachlan was notified as being a close contact has been enormous but after a big sigh of relief we can all rest...a huge thank you to all for your well wishes and especially to my cousin's daughter Rebecca for making us some really comfortable masks plus my cousin Ron for kindly dropping them off at our front door. We were down to our last litre of milk

My son and I were tested yesterday, It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, Lachlan was given a priority 3 test and I was given a priority 1 test which was a double dose of swabs as they had all my health records being at the Austin. A double dose of 2 swabs down the throat and 1 down each of the nostrils. They went down so far I thought it was an endoscopy however apart from coughing over the nurse which I profusely apologised for it wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. A couple of Lachlan's school friends were also there which was nice for him. Now the wait............... All there is to do while we are waiting is to watch movie...watching one today that I think sums up what is happening here in Melb

The results of Sat tests would not have been known yet (today)

Here is a screen shot of the State Gov fact sheet sent to my son Lachlan yesterday with his Close Contact notification...now this is electronic and it is not an old printed copy...is it any wonder people are confused

My son Lachlan received an email from the school advising that he has been determined to be a close contact of the positive Covid 19 case at his school. He has to get a Covid 19 test done at a hospital, not a testing station, on Sat which will be day 11 for him. He has to immediately quarantine, get the test on Sat and remain in quarantine till at least Wed which will be day 14 or later if he hasn't received his test result. The whole family is now in self quarantine and we are not leaving the house under any circumstances.

What I would like to know is how did she get out of the Melbourne suburbs lock down to get to Orbost in the first place

On Monday my son's school was closed due to a year11/12 student getting Covid On Tuesday the other school in my local area, Macleod College, was closed due to a year11/12 student getting Covid Today I woke to find another school not that far away is closed due to a year11/12 student getting Covid This is going to go on and on and on for months because for every new case, 374 of them yesterday, we have to wait for at least 3 to 5 more weeks to see if there are any infections passed on from the positives obtained each day, and then 3 to 5 weeks from each of them etc etc etc...Victoria's pseudo lockdown is going to be prolonged for months is my gut feel...imagine if we had have gone into a full real lockdown when this 2nd wave started? A lot less lives would have been ruined

As you may know here in Vic all Year 11 and 12 students have been back at school for the last week amidst the Covid situation that has blown up here in Vic and my son Lachlan has been back at school doing Year 12 for that time. At his school there are only 2 classes of Year 12 students so it is a small tight knit school. Late last night at about 10:30pm I received an email from the school advising NOT to send Lachlan to school today as the school has been completely closed down due to a Covid 19 case with one of the students. No more information has been forthcoming, on Sat we were turned away from being tested (see previous post) and on Daniel Andrews media conference just now he says that "testing has increased" and "a person could show no symptoms and still be positive so GET YOURSELF TESTED". I can't, he won't let me!!!! My wife, my daughter, my son and myself are sitting here scared out of our wits and in the dark...I have stuffed lungs and on a daily puffer to help, my doctor says I can't get it under any circumstances. The crap coming out of Daniel Andrews mouth every day is paramount to a criminal offence. How many times did he say "The buck stops with me", well it's time that he stood down and let someone else better manage Victoria and be a leader so Victorians can get a degree of confidence back in their life to help ride through these times

My daughter and I went to get tested today and they wouldn't test us. Caitlin works as a casual at Adairs in a small shopping center and she received a text from her boss saying a positive C - 19 case has been found at Cotton On a few stores away. Caitlin had been in that store a few days ago so we decided to go and get tested. Waiting for a while in the car we got to the front and they turned us away and said go to the hospital if we get any symptoms but they wouldn't test us. I see Andrews on the news saying they are testing more and more people every day and have even opened more testing stations. We all know you can have the virus and spread it around before you even start showing symptoms but they wouldn't test us even though there was a possible exposure.

My personal opinion is that in times of adversity, we look to leadership, and I feel that we are just not getting it. Leadership is about having the balls to make the hard decisions and as the heavy Labour supporter areas have been the hardest hit, one really must ask the question WHY it is these areas, the State Government seems to not have the balls to come down HARD on those areas for the betterment of the ENTIRE State. Whether you like Howard or not, I respected him for his continual showing of his love for this country and every single Australian in it, and let's face it, how could a person have been the 2nd longest serving Prime Minister without having done the job well by the majority of Australians. He was hard, when hard had to be, and that is why I referenced him. ---------------------------------------------- More Corruption, Cedar Meats, a large outbreak of the Virus in Victoria and A CONTRIBUTOR TO THE LABOUR PARTY: Opposition health spokeswoman Georgie Crozier said the lack of transparency in Victoria was concerning. Ms Crozier revealed the government responded to a Freedom of Information request on the 111-case Cedar Meats cluster by releasing entirely redacted documents. ------------------------------------------------- Anyone that turns a blind eye to that above, all I can say is to quote Bruce Springsteen "Having blind faith in your leaders will get you killed" and guess what...people are dying! What I am hearing from colleagues is that things are really really bad behind the closed doors of the Premier and the Federal Gov needs to find a way to constitutionally step in with the AFP...the Stacking corruption is so minor compared to what has gone on by Andrews
-
Watching this a-hole Premier's news conference I hear he is now blaming the people of Victoria, well maybe so but THAT is what we need a LEADER for, the guy is so weak...John Howard would have not taken any crap and just locked the State down in Stage 4 instead of prolonging the agony for week after week after week...Andrews is gutless and an idiot...I am furious
-
428 new cases in the last 24hrs plus 3 deaths and this bloody idiot Premier believes in long term suffering instead of acting quickly and LISTENING to those in the Health Industry instead of brow beating them and saying HE IS THE BOSS... Feed from Social Australia
-
We watched Greyhound the other night and thought it a great movie although short...90mins long and that includes 10mins of credits
-
Socialism vs capitalism...there now seems to be no difference except in capitalism the rich get richer and the poor get poorer creating a 2 class society instead of a 3 class one and the end result of capitalism's 2 class society is a total destruction of true democracy

Ok, then without jumping into Google, who created the PERT Weighted Average formula that is used in schedules to assign contingency to the degree of risk in schedule activities...remember this area is my domain
