βββ!β
(The Great Australian Adjective.)
[For The Bulletin.] 11 Dec 1897
The sunburnt ββ stockman stood
And, in a dismal ββ mood,
Apostrophised his ββ cuddy;
βThe ββ nagβs no ββ good,
He couldnβt earn his ββ food β
A regular ββ brumby,
ββ!β
He jumped across the ββ horse
And cantered off, of ββ course!
The roads were bad and ββ muddy!
Said he: βWell, spare me ββ days
The ββ Governmentβs ββ ways
Are screaminβ ββ funny,
ββ!β
He rode up hill, down ββ dale,
The wind it blew a ββ gale,
The creek was high and ββ floody,
Said he: βThe ββ horse must swim,
The same for ββ me and him,
It something ββ sickeninβ,
ββ!β
He plunged into the ββ creek,
The ββ horse was ββ weak,
The stockmanβs face a ββ study!
And though the ββ horse was drowned
The ββ rider reached the ground
Ejaculating: βββ!β
βββ!β
