One good thing about getting old, we watched a disaster movie tonight for the second time and didn’t know how it ends.

One thing the world could do immediately to reduce carbon emissions significantly is to ban bitcoin and it’s mates. A totally unnecessary consumer of electricity.

I got a cheque from Medicare. It is made out to my doctor. I have to drive to town to give it to him.

When I was growing up my dad was a heavy drinker and would blue with mum a lot, though it was verbal and not violent to her (though we copped it lots). For some reason my two brothers remember it being much worse than I do. This week one brother sent me an audio file of a tape recording he made in the seventies, well after I had left home, of a domestic dispute. My father was shouting swearing at mum because she hadn't started dinner. It sort of brought it all back, but it seems to me like someone else's life not mine.

OK I am desperate. Today my photos have all departed my computer. Yes they are in the cloud, but the folders have lost their dates. Here is the back story: New PC laptop computer 18 months ago. All files kept disappearing into the cloud, but I want them on my hard drive to work off line. Our town has two IT guys, I have paid each of them to come at different times and sort it out but no joy. Our son is an IT specialist, he spent two hours at the beginning of this month trying to sort it out. It all seemed OK for a couple of weeks. Our son persuaded me to keep the cloud function as backup, he said it would not affect my HD. Then I went off in the caravan, using my computer off line and on 4G/5G. When I logged on to today on our home network, the Photos folder is not there on my HD. It is not in the Bin. It is in the cloud but has lost the date information from the folders. It must be because I was off line for a couple of weeks. I would like to disconnect from the cloud. The paid IT guys tried to do that but it keeps coming back and stealing my files. I am not a computer illiterate, have been managing my own computer as long as there have been desktop computers. What next?
