On the topic of who likes trump, I saw this on ABC news: "After resigning from politics earlier this year, Mr Morrison was appointed non-executive vice chairman at US consulting firm American Global Strategies, founded by former Trump White House national security advisors Robert O'Brien and Alex Gray." I hadn't made the connection when he first got the consulting job in US. So, does this make sfm an official trumpet?

I recall attending a meeting of 'concerned parents' at our primary school, back around 1980. I was shocked by the behaviour of these people. The audience was up in arms, trying to whip up hysteria to ban a education programme that might be seen by rational people as real life education. The audience was seeded with vocal (hysterical) Festival of Light religious nutters. Sadly, the programme was axed. Does anyone recall Rev. the Hon Fred Nile, National President of the Christian Democratic Party? Fortunately we don't get a lot of this kind of stuff happening. But any is too much.

Further aurora sightings The purple pic (on the anti-gripes thread) was taken in our yard, visible to the naked eye, and it lit up the reds of our autumn leaves on the deciduous trees. Last night I went down to the river and took a picture of Franklin town.

My positive for today.... I have been lusting to see an aurora for many years. On the rare occasions when it coincides with clear sky (this is Tasmania after all), I have slept through the event. Until today. For some ungodly reason I was awake at the ungodly hour of 4 am. (Mrs Nomad had woken up and wanted a cup of tea at 4am). So I was awake to see the aurora! It was even visible at dawn. During the day there were several interplanetary shocks (betcha didn't know that) and tonight there was another visible aurora. Absolutely made my day!

Hi Jerry, I have been agonising over this for years! Very keen to hear your thoughts. I have a suspicion that it might be best to get my own domain but have no idea how to set it up nor how to maintain it. So I would have email address xxxx@nomad.org Or similar. Please keep me posted. I have seen an Australian scrap metal yard stripping circuit boards out of computers - back in the 1990's. I quizzed the bloke and although he didn't go into detail, he did tell me what quantity of precious metal was recoverable. He wasn't sending it overseas at the time either.

OME it is more likely our recycling waste that they are using. If we dealt with our own waste here, it would be far more kind to the planet.

At the end, most of the packaging workers were children. Also, apart from the primitive factory equipment and obvious inefficiencies, I am amazed that it takes so many people to produce an item that probably only returns about $5 each item. When it sells in myers for $99, the middle men get rich and the poor buggers that actually made it get sfa. (Like farming)

They'd never allow me to. Deforestation is reserved for the state owned logging industry, so they can send those ugly untidy old growth forests overseas to be converted into pristine toilet paper.
