  1. I watch those shows to get a glimpse of cars I have owned, and household trivia that we dont see anymore.
  2. I disagree. For too long we have tried to restrict the choice to 50% ofthe population. Now we have more to choose from. Choosing a life partner shouldn't be only about breeding - there's been far to much of that lately anyway.
  3. Y'all just sayin that
  4. I can see it now.... The government promoting 'shower with a friend... on your front lawn'.... Evaporative coolers waste water, but real aircons make distilled water.
  5. Are we still comitted to purchasing F-35's?
  6. None of that report made sense. A mystery source of radiation, significant enough to invoke a 'state of emergency ', and it was discovered by a boy? And the source was placed in a safe container and removed, but they don't know what the source was?
  7. I'm trying to suggest you are putting the cart before the horse. If the predictions play out, there might not be enough water to sustain the population, let alone trying to find extra to water the garden. Trying to minimise the cost of putting food on the table pales when there is not enough water to drink. As I pointed out, our reserves seem to only last through the average 10 or 12 year drought. Now we are warned to expect much worse. Then what? Water security vital.
  8. Note that BOM are warning of possible 'megadroughts'. None of our water supply infrastructure will cope with a 20 year drought. Do you think our governments are scrambling to build water supplies to ensure our survival through a 20 year drought? Queensland nearly ran out after a ten year low rainfall, and they cancelled building further dams, in spite of constant population growth.
  9. That is a great idea. But only if there is water available for said veggie patch.
  10. I happen to have an old Iphone 6, what app do you use to turn it into a dashcam?
  11. I have Onetrack's problem. My neweish phone is too long for any of my pockets and keeps trying to leap onto the pavement. Clothing simply isn't made to accommodate new phones. All my 'tradie clothing - pants, coats, etc, all have phone pockets in them - made just right for last year's phones.
  12. For those who have modest needs, a solar can be arranged cheaply. As long as it is mostly low voltage. I have seen old panels that have been removed from a home for upgrading, selling for upwards of $25 for a 200 watt panel. A couple of these, charging a couple of second hand old fashioned lead acid batteries, gives plenty of power for lighting and phone/laptop/power tool charging. Maybe not luxury, but still affordable. Next step will be a small chest freezer to use as a fridge - run direct off another couple of panels via an old 240v inverter, it should chill down during the day and hold the cold overnight. My friend had already accumulated most of the stuff but didn't know how to set it up. He is tickled pink just having electric lights for the first time in 4 years living in his shack.
  13. I don't believe you
  14. Did you know that those bigger ships would be unnecessary if countries started up manufacturing their own products instead of importing the cheapest stuff that they can find, from other countries?
  15. Can I blame the greens (a very minor political influence on industry) for that, as well as for the poor mining standards in other countries, too?
  16. Aaah. At last.... an environmentally friendly way to cure the pirate problem. A solution that won't need any american weapons to achieve.
  17. They would probably unload their bike by riding over the cab and down the bonnet.
  18. Easier, only if they are trials riders
  19. While I watched the EV Quickie vid, I scrolled through the comments. I am surprised there are so many dimwits out there that seem capable of typing their inane crud.
  20. OK here is my question.... I recently had a bit of argy bargy with a Ebay seller. They didnt send everything in the order, then offered me a 50% refund. After a few polite requests they sent me an email which frightened me. How can an Ebay seller get a screen shot of MY Ebay message page? That was sent to me as a attachment, with the words: "please see this pic, regards" The pic was a screenshot of my message page, with my greeting "G'day Peter" and my username.
  21. Thats not so silly
  22. Hey, there has been so much outrageous stuff that he has said and done...... and I doubt that he would be proof reading it prior to endorsing it...... So are you saying that there are limits to his outrageousness?
  23. Well today has been exactly as forecast by BOM. Light drizzle started before daybreak, built up to a bit over 1/2 an inch by late in the day, and tapering off now (5pm). About 10,000 litres into our tanks - thanks. It's been a dry summer, and although we are good for drinking water, the subsoil moisture won't be restored by this little fall.
  24. Is that for real? It sounds too incredible.
  25. Well everbody was clamoring for greater transparency in RAAus!
