  1. I think we are famous for our "wide brown land". If it isn't brown with dead grass and dust, it's brown with floodwater.
  2. Still no corroboration? Surely by now the Russians have noticed half a dozen aircraft are late home?
  3. Would be a tough job for the unfortunate coppers. I reckon not a lot of letters to politicians would be friendly
  4. Out dog! Out Kerr!
  5. Make that he was NUMEROUS ministers in federal government. But he was allegedly working with dog. Not sure what that says about dogs work.
  6. Serpents and dragons make for better stories than poisoned fruit and spiritual traps.
  7. Well, I won't be carbon neutral, but I will be carbon.
  8. When life gives you melons, you're probably dyslexic. (Over to you, Red leader....)
  9. Adam & Eve were the first people to ignore Apple's terms and conditions.
  10. Back to funnies.... 250 kg here on Earth is 94.5 kg on Mercury. No, I'm not fat. I’m just not on the right planet.
  11. I love that plan. Now, let me see, at my present saving rate, I'll have enough in the bank for a new car by 2040. Oh joy! I hope its a wheelchair friendly autonomous one.
  12. And no dry lightning.
  13. Well I don't mind. Fireworks has grown to the point of being gross waste of public money.
  14. It'd work well in their dry desert air.
  15. No need to thank me. It was all in a day's work (all through 1999). We did have to make operating system mods in quite a bit of gear. You can thank Mr Gates for his mistake in DOS, and some proprietary software people for copying it. In Telstra, the only phopa I was aware of was the mobile phone network got jammed for a while (at midnight) when all the Coke vending machines simultaneously called in to order restocking. Their fault, not ours
  16. Our new policy is to hit every fire with everything we can, as fast as we can. It doesn't always work but it's better than waiting for the situation to get out of hand, THEN calling out the big guns.
  17. I didn't see mention of either in the news. Are they getting cautious about believing the claims?
  18. The ones I read about were simply air systems. Basically large amounts of buried air ducting with a fan to draw outside air through. The plan was to dissipate heat into the subsoil along the way, and discharge cooler air into the home. It did slightly reduce the air temp but not enough to be worthwhile. I would think that using a liquid system would not gather much different 'coolness'. But using that 12 -14 degree cool water as a starting point for an air conditioner (instead of 30 deg ambient air) is a different story. Ground sourced heat pumps are common in Canada and Europe because they are so efficient.
  19. Most of all, even if the main content gets too droll for you, skip to question time at the end, and remember he spoke before Trumps first triumph.
  20. Stumbled across this youtube and although it is a long address by an author, it is by the writer of "The Art of the Deal". And the address was given a fortnight before Tumpy won the presidency. This bloke had spent a long time getting information for the book and his insights should have been made public.
  21. And that, in my opinion, would really qualify as a British 'invasion'.
  22. Thank goodness my bicycle isn't internet connected.
  23. All the reports that I have read regarding simple subsoil air cooling hace failed. Such things as burying a matrix of pvc downpipes a metre under the slab of the house - failed. However, the Australian experience with ground sourced heat pumps has been dramatically successful. Summer Power reductions of 30% - 50% have been reported. But it is ridiculously expensive due to lack of competition in the industry.
  24. Now that I am older (& wiser?) I have fitted a sensible comfy seat (saddle) to my bike. Because nowadays, I like to sit occassionally when I am riding.
  25. What have you said to bet blacklisted? Realestate.com laods directly on my phone
