  1. Don't bother quoting scripture, I was there once, never again.might as well quote Star Trek or star wars, there're just as real. The fact is they exist because Christianity have this ridiculous "do unto others" thing, Islamic extremism is a cancer, you don't see doctors telling patients that they should tolerate their cancer, They destroy it, completely eradicate it, because they know it will come back and kill you if they don't.
  2. Your Christian culture is significantly responsible for the rise of Islamic extremists. Your mantra of "turn the other cheek" and " do unto others" as well as the concept of being happy to die being persecuted for Christ, is a total failure against a group that think all infidels must submit or die.
  3. Definitely Darling Downs Geoff........even AAMI last year reckoned that Toowoomba drivers were officially the worst in the country, rating highly with failing to give way collisions, and collisions with stationary objects. Not surprising really, when you see it for yourself. I've seen chooks and cattle that move with more purpose, precision and predictability than 80% of them. One of the most common causes of vehicular deaths around here is pulling out in front of trucks or other vehicles and most of them use more space to carry out a simple turn than a B-Double. That's another indicator that a driver here is about to speed up.... erratic and 70-90 k's flick the butt out the window, then straight to whatever speed it takes to make sure you cant overtake.
  4. I must live in some kind of Bermuda Triangle for indicators.....they appear to fail to work on almost everything. It could be that locals expect them to be automatic, as the elbow never moves from the window, the phone doesn't move from their ear, the only visible movement is to flick the smoke butt out the window.
  5. Does it? Better check those regs.... Regulatory signs | Transport and motoring | Queensland Government
  6. Don't you mean product of a disfunctional family?
  7. Yep, it's been quite well established that we have achieved bugger all by throwing money at education, you can't educate people that don't want to be educated, you might be able to work for a living if you're educated. Can't speak for other states but QLD health is riddled with inefficiencies, and is currently being made worse again by Palaszczuk.
  8. What's the difference between a chickpea and a lentil? I wouldn't pay $200 to have a lentil on me....
  9. On this particular subject, I have concerns about their facts. Could it be that people are being arrested for less? We recently had the experience of having one of our apprentices arrested, after doing exactly as he was asked. I am lead to believe that he may have been mildly intoxicated , was asked to leave an area, and was complying, when he was arrested. Not just his story, but the exact events told by several other absolutely gobsmacked workmates. This was no hard partying yobbo either. I suspect, based on this event, and some others I have experienced myself, that more people are being arrested for doing less and this contributes to their "increased" numbers.
  10. Maybe he's correct if we use only the green approved organic non-GM crops, instead of the GM crops that have been feeding the ever expanding population of the world for some years now....maybe he's just a bell-end?
  11. Swap Pauline for fly_tornado, and that sentence would make more sense.......
  12. Unfortunately, "others", includes any children they might have in their care.
  13. It was nothing personal.....I read a lot of your posts and often find myself in agreeing, I was really surprised to see you quote a Michael Moore doco, as generally speaking, it is my opinion that you are correct when saying "The whole doco is mostly a shallow time waste".
  14. If Michael Moore made a doco about it,then it has to be true.....
  15. I like the idea of decriminalising a lot of things and put the onus back onto the user not to hurt or inconvenience others, but anyone that does needs to be held responsible and accountable. Some people have addictive personalities, addressing the root causes are difficult, but then, sorting those issues should come back to the families of those involved, not society in general. The way the country is governed needs to change for it to work though, there are too many authoritarians who think the public cannot be allowed to think for themselves.
  16. Or you could go with the Church of Satan concept of "Treat others how they treat you"
  17. I have experienced cops bald faced lying in front of a magistrate personally. That and another incident have done away with any respect for them. I saw a while ago, a push for assaults on police to be treated more harshly than assaults on citizens, I think it should only be acceptable when they treat perjury by the police as a more serious offence.
  18. I have had the misfortune of living amongst some of these "vulnerable" people. Vulnerable isn't a term I would use, there are plenty of more apt terms, I would throw in the word "opportunist' there somewhere. They appear proud of their lifestyle and actions, look down upon those who would earn an honest living and consider us stupid. They give lawyers and magistrates their best "not my fault" sob story while openly mocking the cops. They say whatever they need to say to get what they want. I don't know what the answer is in this day and age, but I do know that whatever they're doing, it's not working, so more of the same will continue not to work.
  19. Maybe in Victoria almost everything is illegal. People are breaking the law every day because more stuff is illegal and we have more police than ever to catch them. I do actually wonder what sort of system we have, I know a person who really should be in prison, with the offences he has committed, but somehow the police have failed, then I read in the paper of others who have caught doing 1/10th of his effort and they get several months or even years prison. It seems very inconsistent. As far as humour goes, once we start telling people what they can or can't laugh at, we're beyond help.
  20. The point seems to have been missed....I don't care whether it's Halal or Kosher, but I do care about the hypocrisy of bleeding hearts that demand humane treatment of animals, also condone inhumane (by their own standard) treatment to appease religious w*nk. Why even have the rules if you can be exempt because your particular sky fairy demands it? The funds syphoned off the Halal certification process I think may be the main issue that the media are deliberately missing. (see post 239)
  21. Grew up on a farm, well aware of what goes on in an abattoir, just think that it's obscene, that everyone has to follow certain rules, but you can claim your religion requires that you don't have to comply with the rules and that makes it OK. (see posts 241 & 244)
  22. I'm sure that most foods would require no change to the content to be Halal, it's where the funds skimmed off for the certification go that is the issue. I don't care if a religious git blesses the food, I do care if they kill it inhumanely, and I do care if they demand funds be sent to help any religion keep going.
  23. Not surprised, well aware, and totally against it. Wealthiest institutions on the planet, telling us to help the poor.....by giving to them.
  24. Good idea....Mick's Halal Pork Products
  25. From RSPCA website.... Exemptions from pre-slaughter stunning requirements There are a small number of abattoirs in Australia that have been granted permission from the relevant State or Territory food authority to conduct religious slaughter without prior stunning – for either Halal or Kosher (Jewish slaughter) purposes. These ‘approvals’ are effectively exemptions to standard Australian slaughter practice. The proportion of animals slaughtered under these exemptions is very small, but nevertheless that any animals are slaughtered without stunning is of concern to the RSPCA. For cattle and sheep, the requirements for religious slaughter without prior stunning are set out in a nationally adopted guideline Ritual Slaughter for Ovine (Sheep) and Bovine (Cattle): For cattle, stunning is still required but this occurs immediately after the throat is cut. Two separate slaughtermen must be present: one to perform the cut (which must sever both the carotid arteries and jugular veins) and one to perform the stunning. For sheep, stunning is not required except where the animal is distressed or does not rapidly lose consciousness, in which case they must be immediately stunned. The requirements for cattle and sheep are different because cattle take longer than sheep to lose consciousness as they have an extra blood supply to the brain at the back of the neck running along the vertebrae. All Halal slaughter of chickens in Australia includes prior stunning. The RSPCA is concerned there are much greater risks of an animal suffering during slaughter without stunning than for conventional slaughter. Slaughtering an animal while fully conscious requires additional handling and restraint and means that the animal will experience pain associated with the throat cut and subsequent bleeding out. For these reasons, the RSPCA is strongly opposed to all forms of slaughter that do not involve prior stunning of the animal. Where the RSPCA is opposed to a practice we believe is cruel – but not illegal – we engage with the relevant industries and government with the ultimate aim to see an end to the practice.
