But do we all . need connection to that grid . A house-hold with excess solar , plus oversized battery lesson's the load on that grid . More independent communities lesson's the grid-lode by a huge amount. The Big industries, like Bunnings, & Aldi have gone solar. Which means more grid capacity For the rest of the grid-user's . Am I thinking wrong here . The future with out a grid system. spacesailor

The person , who gets ' scratched ' by that sharp cut edge . I had to fix my umbrella that had a wire twist , cut to a sharp point . Blood everywhere, after I sliced my two fingers on that fxxxxx . Be kind , use a hot knife on plastic . ( it rounds those corners ) . spacesailor

BUT the same applies. Remove that " tapeworm " & the fat comes back ! . It's the same as ' dieting ' " eat to satisfy " , & the weight jumps up immediately. Deadly game of " keep obesity away " easier said than doing it . Got my weight down to 83 kilograms now back up to 89.1 kilos . Another dose of ' laxatives ' , she'll be right mate ' . The Romans ate for hours per sitting , & would leave the table to ' regurgitate ' the food , to make room tor more . ( no refrigeration! Had to be earen while fresh ) . space.sailor

I tried reading a " Jame's Bond '' book but after a dozen pages I was still at the restaurant table. We're everything was described in detail. Too bored without dialogue & flashing lights . So dropped it in the litter-bin . Books used to enthral me !. Now I think , watching that book as a film of 60/70 minutes. Is better than two or three days reading it . spacesailor

here in Toongabbie we had a truck take down one power pole And then darkness descended. Short circuit shut down a large area . Or suburb. It doesn't take a major storm to knock-out our power supply So , a bbq & gas bottle with a light attachment, it gives off heat for the winter months, Cooks dinner. With light to see , what your eating . Just like a picnic. spacesailor

I still have " gas & kerosene " lanterns. The TV can be connected by car batteries & inverter. CB radio will take care of communications. ( no microwave cell phones without mains power ) . spacesailor

If we want more panels on roofs . Why Do they cut out the low user's of power . That " minimum power bill " clause , has stopped many a home having ' rooftop solar ' installed . The wealthier homes use the most of what their panels produce. Those that use the least, & therefore contribute more to the grid , get no help installing panels. spacesailor

Those tags on extension leads , plus new home made , can have a SES certified tag appllied . They had a member sit a test to qualify , for that job . spacesailor

All those electronic gizmo's. I will never use . Not even the radio . My Pajero has the media package and three remotes . Never used them . Perhaps I should remove the batteries. One day . I hate that braking thing , were a wheel has it's brake applied to spin the car in circles , whenever on sand . I was told " remove the fuse " just never found which fuse . Aaspacesailor

I'm toying with the idea of a BEV . But $ 50,000 worth of petrol will last an awful long time ! . Which is something I lack . At $2.00 a litre it is about a full tanker . To tow behind my Pajero. the wife's against it , as she says I'm SKI . My reason is " the huge que " to get cheaper fuel . $1.77 in merrylands Sydney. spacesailor Ps. : no rooftop panels
