gareth lacey replied to Phil Perry's topic in Politics
Your right ISRAEL didn't exist BUT it was the Jewish peoples homeland they were ther before Palestine was for thousands of years , they deserve to be left in peace and the arabs(Palestinians ) should go to another arab country ,but wait they don't get on that well with each other do they and the (mostly) other arab countries wont let them settle there -

When the pla(a known terrorist organization )stops indiscriminte bombing of Israel there will be consequences for the Palestinian people stop the backing of pla Israel also have a right to live peacfully and we all know that the arab nations want Israel destroyed/annihilation has anyone here been in Israel when the rockets are landing its very scary (i was there a few years ago when this happened) it claims the lives of innocents, also what about the times when the arabs capture a Israeli they torture maim and then drag the body through the street's the arabs are dangerous fanatics abd that sort of behavior warrents swift and retaliatory action -

I paid all the legal tax requirements on the money I earned and should not pay any more on the cash that I live on, if I buy stuff I pay tax user pays ,I no longer earn income , the cash I get is for my retirement(been retired 8 years now 71) have paid more than my share
-
Yes super is good for people on fixed incomes and medicare has been a benefit for all people, volunteering I see the waste given to the so called socio economic l welfare recipients, mums and dads who cry poor but spend loads of your tax money(I no longer pay taxes on income)tattoos, grog, cigarettes, yet their children come to school and we then provide breakfast because they do not get it at home , no I do not want to contribute to those people and yes I did contribute taxes that went to our aged pensioners and social welfare is good but sometimes we have to say enough is enough and people should be made to take ownership of their own destiny

I don't own shares so don't get franking credits, my money was accrued other ways, not through fiddling, I agree with you on the franking credits, just so you know My money was earned fair and square and no I will not share it with lesser people who don't think ahead, 51 years in Aus and I have seen what labour did financially in the time they were in office , labor themselves have served the top end of town and their rich friends as well as Libs but personally I have always done well under Libs not labor

gareth lacey replied to Phil Perry's topic in Science and Technology
His heart in the right place, he fleeced millions off ordinary wage earners who seem to think his message was the only oneirs almost like a religion to some. Ocrave wgere did i deny NASA on its findings i read as much of climate deniers as well as the"facts" yes there has been to much pollution since the start of the industrial revolution but please do not skip over the main problem To Many people in this world and australia cannot afford to have many more -

AL GORE politician turned save the planet guru made millions out of gullible people who listened to his rubbish 10 years or more ago, it was so dire then but here we are all these years later and the world still keeps turning, oceans have not flooded low lying areas, ozone layer still there ,the world still doesn't get it the biggest threat is PEOPLE to many of us mostly in third world countries who still dump their rubbish in the streets and sxxt and pxxs in them and we in the west according to the leftards are the problem, my kids,my grandchildren and their kids will still be using oil in the future -

Most 3rd world countries cannot afford"renewables" and as for electric cars they will never have one , most cannot afford a petrol or diesil car, and they will still depend on coal fired generation, so who will bear the brunt of the changes,oh wait a minute that will be US in the richer countries, so that will mean we as older Aussies will get poorer , I for one am glad that I will be gone long before this all comes to fruition, and no I am not a naysayer, facts are the western counties will PAY the most( go on say its all our own fault) -
Insurance companies = parasites

If Labor wins the election there is seriously something wrong with peoples thinking
-
OME ,and you survived that

Not prejudiced at all, saying as a fact 50 years ago they(gays, lesbians, trans or whatever )did not last ,they were ridiculed and usually left after being subjected to harassment or the "above my pay scale" officers soon found ways to get them out, medical, trumped up charges etc etc, never encountered a gay person then so only hearsay, and don't forget it was at that time a criminal offence to engage in homosexual acts in UK, times have changed all for the good in most cases , I have no real feelings about lgbti people, they don't impact on my life and my argument was about the Brit and Us army and as trey gowdy is right, armed forces are there to wage war, would you like to see your daughter at the blunt end in a war,I would not like to see mine there ,women have the right to serve as does anyone if they have the right stuff, look at the Kurd women fighters they had a very real reason for fighting and by accounts they are good soldiers ,we in the west are not of the same mettle

My comments were for Marty

I am talking 1966 uk and as i get older and hopfully wiser i have no problem with gender i was just reflecting my time in brit forces (army squadie)
-
You have obviously never been in the armed forces, so your comments are way off, Trey Gowdy is spot on about the way the forces select people to serve(except in a ww11 scenario)and if his conservative views are narrow that's his right, from my observations of Australian selection they do admit people of both genders(woman/man)and seem to on the surface accept gay/lesbian recruits ,however they would probably be targeted/ridiculed/ by the forces in general,it has got better for those people but in my time if they were found out they did not stay in for long, there are ways to get them out ,they would have been targeted
