Plenty of CCTV around fuel pumps. If you drive off without paying they know your rego. What made me laugh the other day is when I walked into the service station in my leathers with helmet to buy some chips for the kids, and the attendant asked if I had filled up as well - but there were no motorbikes near the pumps.

Yeah that decision knocked the gloss off Labor. A massive majority based in large part on their perceived action on climate change and the first thing they do is bend over and take it from the giant polluter Woodside.

Horses for courses. Battery swap is probably good for trucks and other commercial vehicles, where the spares can be recharged at the depot and the truck isn't losing valuable time off the road being charged. For cars, especially under current ownership model, probably doesn't make sense.

Want less crime? Fund high quality universal early childhood education. Do free nutritious school lunches. Provide free dental care. (Health not cosmetic). Those things alone would help bring down the crime rate. As others have said, the better the society, the less crime. People who are healthy and well educated are far less likely to offend.

Maintained? Our ride on was inherited from my father in-law when he popped his clogs about 10 years ago. I use it about 3 times a year during summer. Fill the tank every 2 years. Still starts first time. Never even looked at the blades, except to remove a length of aluminum bar that someone had left in the paddock and that the mower turned into a pretzel.

I've been robbed. It's shit but you get over it. Didn't have insurance on that bike either. As annoying as it is for all the victims, bet they're fully insured. When I saw number 3 it reminded me of the Blues Brothers.
