    20m.
  2. Well, it's a bit fowl.
  3. I'm grateful that they're only at that stage. Comparing stored images is donkey work. It shouldn't be hard to set up automation of that so it automatically flags any new structures (this is well within the bounds of current machine learning). Then cross check the latitude/longitude with title records, check for DA for that title, if there's any mismatch then spit it out to a council enforcement goon. Neighbours of mine got council approval to extend a room by a couple of metres. Cost them an absolute bomb and they're not made of money. I understand why they have planning offices - you don't want to end up with slum suburbs and disease outbreaks - but it should be nuanced especially in rural areas where the addition of a shed makes absolutely no difference to the area.
  4. Naked around the neighbours' chooks? You really are turning into a Huon Valley local!

Ah. On my phone screen I read the days for each as 5, instead of 8 and 5. That makes sense.
  6. I found this article illuminating. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/oct/07/donald-trumps-hitlerian-logic-is-no-mistake
  7. I think this article sums it up quite well. I'd certainly trust Laura Tingle over anything published in the Australian. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-10-05/laura-tingle-on-middle-east-politics-and-dutton-albanese-divide/104433752
  8. Not to mention the US bailouts of banks during the GFC - some of which got spent on multi million bonuses for the very people who caused or contributed to the problem.

  13. Do a tug-of-war between the theatrical horse and the real one, the answer will become clear...
  14. Poor bugger. Kind of laughing but wincing. The problem is that age and gravity extend any hanging appendages. Did you have to operate the jaws of life Peter? Hope it wasn't "mechanic's view".
  15. There's an inherent paradox in that statement... if the event which causes the disappointment is your death, when are you actually disappointed?
  16. Interesting. I'd have thought the ability to manage your health to live your healthiest life would be a very valuable thing indeed. Why do you think it's taking it too far?
  17. Must be in the dog-whistling ones. I just had a quick scan of ABC and The Guardian and the only thing I could find was Dutton desperately seeking relevance by accusing Albo of being weak by not condemning hezbollah for something. The fact that he's actually running the country instead of looking for nits to pick probably accounts for that.
  18. You may have to explain that context a bit more, how is he soft on terrorism?

I'm going to take a punt and say A, based on the fact that the pics are 5 characters each (if it's "curry" instead of "food").
  20. Real estate talk is even more efficient. "So tiny you have to go outside to turn around" becomes "cosy".

  22. Kevin Rudd did give us free panels back in 2008 / 2009 or whenever. We had a little 1.2kw installation done then for nothing.
  23. Well, if you're going to go to the loo in front of someone's doorbell camera, serves you right!
  24. Jeez, how do you actually find the article among all those ads??
