  1. If they do, the logical progression is they'll start stealing lit cigarettes from people. Win win situation - if they've been trained to dispose off the butts properly they'll be cleaner than the humans, and it'll encourage people to stop smoking.
  2. If you can make that, you're not going to pay for someone else to install it.

  7. Hmmm. Impressive physique in those cards. He must have worked out quite a bit for those "photos"!
  8. You'd think they'd just take action to ban him from bringing any lawsuits. What a waste of court time. Most people never come in contact with the judicial system, or at most a handful of times. If some idiot is doing lawsuits by the hundred (and losing the majority) surely they could either ban him outright or at least put him at the back of the queue every time.
  9. Let 'em go for it Peter. Jealousy's a curse.
  10. The Darwin effect.
  11. Same here. Yesterday a 30m pine fell over our driveway, taking out our power lines with it. Tas Networks have apparently made the fallen line safe but haven't fixed them yet. We've borrowed a 2000w generator from neighbours which is powering the essentials - water transfer pump, fridge/freezer, fish tank, chargers and PC/monitor so I can work. Torrential rains last night and again this morning, now sunshine at last which is a pleasant change. But the winds yesterday were horrific. While I was cutting up the fallen tree I kept casting anxious glances at the pine beside it which was swaying quite a bit at the top.
  12. One they didn't include is "Black Charlie's Opening" which is on the way to Orford.
  13. Whenever shops leave letter items on display you get that. In Big W once I saw 4 letter items with the C, N, T and U arranged appropriately.
  14. Sorry Peter. Just laughing at the thought of Alan Jones being "beloved" - that's a bigger lie than anything the Daily Fail could print.
  15. Fran Kelly was discussing this on Radio National today. Apparently a lot of the people who were going to vote for RFK were in the "Can't stand Biden OR Trump" camp, and were going to vote for him because of the Kennedy name. However when Biden dropped out and they realise how batshit crazy he is, chances are they'll vote Kamala.
  16. One could argue that a makeup-wearing, cross-dressing boy in the 80's was always going to be ahead of his time!
  17. Less worrying than if you were a surgeon.
  18. So.. I should be able to pick up a cheap 2nd hand Tesla soon then? Great!
  19. Is the "n" short for "and" or "in"?
  20. I had a similar experience the other day. Standing on a milk crate at the back of the wing, drilling 3/32" holes for a nut holder on an inspection hatch. Opened the chuck to put in the 3/16" for the bolt and the 3/32" bit fell out and disappeared. Searched the floor (concrete), nowhere to be seen. Checked the flaperon bellcrank in case it was sitting on that, no joy. Thought it may have fallen thru the flaperon slot into the fuselage, so got down under the plane to check the floor behind the seats, not there. Stood up and jammed my hands in my pockets... and felt the bit. It had fallen straight into my jacket pocket!
  21. If you're peeing on yourself you've got bigger (smaller?) problems than pubic deforestation.
  22. Now they just have to teach the horse to read.
  23. I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK that may be altered...
  24. Look at the charts. Started out at 74% support for Ukraine overall (72% Republican, 77% Democrat). So a large majority of people in the US supported Ukraine as at March 22. Since then, probably due to the malign influence of Trump on the GOP, Republican support has fallen quarter by quarter until plateauing in June 23 at around 33-34%. On the other hand in the Democrat side it plateaued at 63% for 3 quarters Jan-Nov 23, then has risen to 67% in April 24. Factor in historical trends in the US. The Republicans have traditionally been the hardest anti-Russia, anti-communist party. Now they're willing to let Russia invade their neighbours? Ask yourself why.
