US has now limited covid vaccines to specific cohorts (over 60, immunocompromised etc). So if you're not in one of them and you want to get vaccinated, too bad, you can't. I swear, everything that comes out of the Trump administration is the opposite of logical.

Interesting talk from an historian on the radio the other day, about the why civilisations fall. He reckons it's inequality. When a country / city state / whatever has true equality, it's stronger. Everyone has a stake in the status quo. However when you get growing inequality and only those with wealth and power are invested in the status quo, things go bad.

The Maga movement is a far right cult. It's the modern equivalent of the Brownshirts in 1930s Germany. The rest of the USA needs to wake up and fight this movement before it's too late. At least that's not as bad as what a mate's teetotaler parents did. When clearing out a dead relative's house they found a bottle of red wine in a cupboard. As they didn't drink, they used it in a big Bolognese sauce. Label was "Grange Hermitage".
