Be offended by things that matter. Whether or not the Voice got up makes zero difference to your life.

Exactly my thoughts, but said far more eloquently.

The Earth didn't move for you Spacey?

The 10,000 mile high club! Bet it's been done already.

Peter! You wouldn't be posting stuff not relevant to the thread, would you?

They don't HAVE to vote now. That's working out well isn't it. I'm so glad we have compulsory voting here and think we have a better democracy for it.

Let's talk about Artificial Intelligence

Well, where is it? Share! -
Sorry if there's any confusion. I'm not "suggesting" that you're an extreme right winger, I am stating as plain fact that - if you actually believe what you say - you are definitely somewhere to the right of Hitler. From your perspective everything is to the left of you, so when you look at centre-right or centre-left policy, you see far left / lefty / woke / pick your label. Far left is full communism/socialism. Unless you're talking about China, Vietnam, Cuba etc - there is no "far left" in Australia, certainly not in America, and not even in Russia.

Finger and thumb, I reckon. I watched Civil War last night. Very good movie, skillfully made and shot, but quite disturbing in parts.

Thanks Peter! That's great to know and far more use than the Tas Alerts app which has given the same update all week but sends you alerts several times a day so you think there's something new, which there's not...
-
Thanks Nev. We're lucky so far. Despite being under 10km from the fire we've had no smoke at all where we are. Still on alert with a go bag packed but cautiously hopeful.

Trump, Hanson... Interesting @Grumpy Old Nasho that for someone who says they are neither Left or Right aligned, you seem to like raving mad far-right nutters. Guessing you think Clive is a great man and Craig Kelly should be in charge.

Of course, silly me. I didn't realize that unpredictability and chaos are desirable qualities in a world leader.

I don't give a toss whether he's the world's richest man or not, and whether that wealth is tangible, intangible or he shits diamonds. The point is that he is an unelected and uncontrolled private citizen with access to virtually all US government data. He has massive conflicts of interest, zero oversight, and has proven to be untrustworthy in his market manipulation already. He's not a public servant and neither are his employees who he's sending into government offices. Despite having no "need to know" he and the other private citizens are accessing private and restricted data. To be honest I think Musk is actually more of a risk to democracy than Trump.

I must watch that recent movie "Civil War". Going to be prophetic I think

He canardly help himself.

Greenland is the new Wild West just waiting to be gang raped by Trump and Musk.

I'm someone who's looking at an EV maybe 5 years hence ( if our current cars last that long). I was interested in Teslas before he went off the rails, but now there's no way in hell I'd buy one. Chinese for me.

They're too thick to understand what's happening. "We trust that Our Great and Glorious Leader Saint Donald has a plan to deliver us from the clutches of those evil transgender LGBTQI far left socialist bastards who want to bring in horrible things like low cost health care."

Hmmm. I'm seeing some irony there... -
I hope a disgruntled IRS employee publishes Musk and Trump's tax returns on the way out the door.

If this doesn't scare you, there's something wrong. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/feb/04/trump-elon-musk-federal-government

Although I agree that T Abbott is a turd, I think you're trying to say A Albanese in that reference. Pushing ahead with the voice referendum when it was clear that Dutton opposed it for base political gain may have been the wrong decision, but it wasn't a cynical one. On the other hand look at the LNP. Their energy "policy" is a stupid and expensive plan that might happen in ten to fifteen years and only affects a small percentage of total power generation. Do you really trust that bunch of clowns with your tax dollars and the reins of government?
