With respect... when buying a car? I've bought cars at auction where the only thing said to you is "sold" and you pay your money to an unsmiling clerk in the office. What mattered to me with those sales is that I got the car for $5k less than a dealer would sell it to me, not that I got a bit of false cameraderie and a cup of tea.

I wandered around our property after dinner this evening with a glass of wine, enjoying the mild spring weather. Peaceful, beautiful, even the purple flowers growing in the septic overflow look happy. Our dogs ran happily around, trying to catch turbo chooks (fat chance!) and it made me think how lucky I am to live here.
