AW, Lighten up a bit people,. . .I'm sure my friend Avi Begin wasn't exaggerating or being biased in any way when he emailed that to me. .. after all he's only a low ranking soldier in the IDF. . . ( and, incidentally, I posted the wrong link. He only sent me six pictures and not a world food market catalogue ! ) Avi tells me that Israel supplies foodstuffs to the Gaza strip on a daily basis, and all they get in return is Katushka rockets shot back into Israel (at night usually) by the radical Hamas looneys.

Not going stir crazy here, replying to myself, but I have been informed that the Metro police in London have been out and about 'Testing' facial recognition equipment. One man was arrested and then charged / Fined £70.00 for deliberately covering his face when he saw the Police cameras. 1984 ?. . .Orwell didn't even imagine the half of it friends. Privacy no longer exists in the Internet generation it seems. Who amongst us would have believed 20 odd years ago tht such a thing could happen in a so called Free and Democratic Western Country ? ( Rhetorical )

This isn't a 'Silly Picture' but after several days of D-DAY celebrations, it's prescient, and I like it.

In the UK News : Politicians lining up to be the New Prime Minister are all confessing to having used drugs in the past. . . One Candidate just met a Chinese drug addict. The Chinese guy said "Have you seen my cocaine?". The candidate replied "Not since he starred in Zulu".

Space Stations: Past, Present, And Future
Phil Perry replied to octave's topic in Science and Technology
The Moon is currently moving away from the Earth at a rate of 12.5 Millimetres per year,. . .so we have not got that long until it's gravity no longer affects the tides on Earth. After that, the oceanic currents will cease, and Earth will no longer support life as we know it.. . .it's not that bad though,. . we, and our great great great great grandchildren will be fine. . .. ( so long as they convert to Islam of course. . . ) -
Indeed Yes Gareth, and because the filthy Israelis keep them starving,. . the governing Palestinian authority continually fire rockets into Israeli settlements. . . . . .

Space Stations: Past, Present, And Future
Phil Perry replied to octave's topic in Science and Technology
Didn't some worthy scientist say, some time back, that the Moon could never support life as we understand it as it is too small to retain any sort of Atmosphere ? Using atmospheric physics to back up hs claim. . .Mars is far bigger than our Earth Moon but it has only a very tiny thin atmosphere, and No volcanically active core, so NO magnetic field to protect it from solar radiation. . .precluding even any advanced technology 'Terraforming' to make it liveable upon for Earth refugees, unless housed in protective domes, well shielded from aforementioned radiation resulting in limited travel outside. . . it looks as if, under current and sensibly perceivable technology, that any escape to the stars will not happen for another millennia or so, or until someone miraculously invents a Star drive to find a better planet or us to wreck, which must also have an orbital Moon to gravitationally control the tides and the weather, and a type G yellow star which places us in the comfort zone, AND the new planet is inclined enough to produce the seasons we are used to. . . Yeah,. . this would be as likely as winning the lottery every week for a year . . . .. Perhaps the universe will be better off without the Human Race further infecting it with our stupid religions. . .? -
This is disgusting and the UN need to do something about the food shortages in the GAZA strip. . it's disgraceful. . . https://www.google.com/sear...

I've just watched this 8 min vid with regard to an alleged Gender pay gap. ( I like finding out how the Australian Government works ) Is it just me,. . .or are these ladies talking complete bollox ?. . .I don't mean to make light of the system, but these ladies don't seem to be talking sense, whilst the presiding Senator seems to be doing his best to understand what they are trying to say. . .. Any explanations for this dumba$$ Pom ?

Space Stations: Past, Present, And Future
Phil Perry replied to octave's topic in Science and Technology
I wonder when some worthy of note will suggest that we begin to address OVER POPULATION?. . as this is now becoming a serious risk to the entire human race. . .the areas of Earth which can support human life are Finite. When we run out of Liveable space for all these new people, what then I have to wonder. . .since no one appears to be addressing this.obvious elephant in the room. . . . We have not got much time left to sort this out. -

The history of Pop Music - UK -1988 ( goes back to 1955 )
Phil Perry replied to Phil Perry's topic in General Discussion
The above is probably only of any interest to Pommie expats. Sorry about the formatting, I just couldn't be Ar$ed spacing all those paragraphs ! If there is any interest in these posts they are made each Friday. Let me know. I actually like the way that Phil includes the history of events at the time these songs were released. They are archived right back to the original 1955 and may be accessed directly by going to the site and selecting 'Phil the Test Manager' from the article Author list on the right hand sidebar. <going-postal.com> ( PS, if you read the BTL comments on this site, make sure there isn't a young child, or the local Vicar / Priest /Imam in the room with you at the time, as, being Political site, the vernacular can be quite raw. . . being mainly a Brexit supporting site, there are a lot of angry people on it. . . .including many Aussie posters too ) The author works as a Contractor / test Manager for large scale complex IT systems, and debugs them. . . the music stuff is just a Hobby. Phil ( The Other one ). -

the Use of 'Progressive' and 'Sensible in the same sentence here in the UK is an oxymoron Marty.

I might be in Londonistan on the 3rd, not sure yet, depends upon the client. Mind you, Mr Trump will NOT be parading along the Mall in a golden coach with Her Maj, as the security risk is too high. This was pointed out when President Obama had his state visit and his secret service detail refused point blank to have their President ride in an 18th Century Horse drawn vehicle made from Leather and wood along a road filled with potential loonies amongst the crowds on both sides of the road. No, that won't happen this time either, especially when Obama was very welcome and Trump ( allegedly ) isn't. They will have some fancy scran at Buck House, and then the Pres will stay at the Ambassador's residence, as Buck House is undergoing massive redevelopment and most of it is under dustsheets. . .Mind you, the Ambassador has a HUGE house, gotta be a few spare rooms in there. . .There are some protests already planned ( via Soshul Meeja) by the usual ratbags, Antifa, Hate not Hope, Muslim Brotherhood etc. . .who protest about absolutely everything. . .but I guess the Metro Plod will keep them kettled away safely. Hopefully, Trump won't break with royal protocol, and put his arm around HMQ, as did Obama which caused several royal footmen, pages and other accolytes to faint with a fit of the vapors . . Trump has said he'd like to meet up with his Buddy Nigel Farage while he is in the UK, something which terrifies the Glitterati in Government circles, which is probably why he's doing it. Dunno if he'll sit next to Theresa May at the Royal Dinner, as she Knows that He knows about her complicity in the Steele dossier dnd her tacit support of the Brit security services in spying on him during his election campaign. . . I shall order a big tub of popcorn for when this unfolds. . .. . it should be a Rort. I am no lover of DT, but I DESPISE the British Government with every fibre of my being. Happy Dayz. . .

I met Bob Hawke accidentally in late 1979. . .seemed a nice bloke. He was willing to chat with a self employed Pommie, and joked about the Poms getting stick when they first fronted up in Australia. What happened politically I can't really comment one way or the other. . .I was renting ( super cheaply ) at the time, and until I returned to the UK ( against my will ) in late 1983 . . .Just think,. . if things had played out differently in the old country, I might still be there $hitposting on the interweb ( From Queensland of course ). . .( what a horrible thought for Ian and the rest of my friends on here. . . ) RIP Bob.

We don't build Ford Transit vans anymore mate,. . .The EU gave Turkey a large Grant ( NOTE 'Grant. NOT Loan ) to remove the factory from Southampton and relocate the lot to Turkey. Now they have closed down British steel because it cannot afford to pay the 'Carbon Tax' imposed by the EU, and under EU rules the Brit Government are not allowed to bail them out. Yet China keeps dumping steel in Europe with no import sanction nor tariff. No wonder we can't compete. .5,000 jobs are directly lost from this and all of the huge support chain jobs also. nd here we still are,. . sending £55 Million a week to the EU. . . .
