There's Practically NO servicing needed on a Pure electric car. That "means something" in the Overall Picture.. In a Hybrid, the IC motor gets a fairly hard time. Fuel must be clean and not stale. The car must be electrically alive to run at all. ie start the IC motor. They are inevitably more expensive than a pure ICE vehicle OR an EV. At 8 years most batteries are still 95 % and can be used as storage for Houses etc for years after.. Geely make "straight" EVs. A mate of mine just bought one. Available range is Increasing all the time.. The "early" Prius (Hybrid) were a pile of trouble. The Hondas would hold up semi's on hills . IF you are Just trying to save Money stick to a reliable Older ICE car that you enjoy driving while there's still fuel available and save the expense of any newer stuff which will go on Improving all the time, the longer you wait. . Anything but a Black Shadow is a relatively low output motor. 45 and 50 Hp for 1000 ccs and the gearbox and clutch are nothing special. it's also hard to fit an electric starter. There were Plenty of Norvins made with Aftermarket frames. The heads don't give good gasflow figures and the 90 degree valve angle is out dated and inefficient. A used Buell 1200 cc for just over 100 hp pulls like a train and cools better with a strong gearbox and clutch and electric start. Nev

There's a fair bit to know about setting up sidecars properly, and having a high centre of gravity makes them doubly dangerous. Like with a trike it's better to keep Mass near the ground. Having suspension can make it very " leany" when turning. and the front forks "trail" can make the steering heavy . Usually the sidecar is sprung in relation to it's chassis at least and some Movement between the side car frame and the Bikes frame. . The assymetry of accelerating and braking can worry some new riders, till they get more experience. You have to look a fair bit ahead to set up your Cornering. It's near impossible to ride a combination with No weight in the chair, safely. Too fast into an off camber LH downhill corner, anytime, will see you in the bushes or a head-on with something coming the other way..You either get to like the challenge or you Hate them. . They put a lot of strain on the engine and the Bike frame and wheels. (side loads). Plenty of original setups were 3 Point. The Goulding was a Popular make here till about 1930 after which it went to the USA. Another big presence was the Dusting and the Yeats was a well set up 4 point mount that was well accepted. and good quality. Tyre wear on the rear wheel can be quite Poor with bigger wider outfits. .
