Happy days are here again. Nev
  2. Crude oil prices are UP. Doesn't look good. Except for EV's. Nev
  3. They aren't such a nice bike to ride anyhow.. They have gone off their elevated value quite a bit lately.. Nev
  4. Almost Page 103. Nev
  5. It's not that hard to find someone worse off, but at my age I get Plenty of real people I know well dropping dead or having bad things happen to them and the news is all about bad news. Nev
  6. I can't see any Point in chewing your arm off and then be unable to ride ANY bike.. Have you ridden a Vincent? Nev
  7. They have a random selection process where there is a delay in speaking for a few seconds and a tell tale "Fweep" noise happens ahead of the talking. I just hang up immediately. Never say YES. They can connect that to anything they make up. . Nev
  8. Current and /or projected in the future, information doesn't show NP to be a MAJOR user of nickel in the TOTAL MARKET, full stop.. Nev
  9. I cannot find any reference that shows NP to be the Major user of Nickel or projected to be. . Indonesia seems to be the Biggest producer. Nev

  11. Do we need that? . Nev
  12. Well I'm the top poster on this topic by a Mile so don't blame me.
  13. Your insult wasn't really called for. I wasn't disputing SOME nickel is used in Nuclear reactors. It also has plenty of other uses was my point. Nev
  14. A few more sources of facts to back your argument would assist instead of Just Laughing. Any thinking person KNOWs you can find what you want to find, these days. When I look I trust More what the Market will Pay as a better indicator than most other self serving Propaganda that Pervades the Media. . Nev
  15. Spares cost, availability and Price of labour dictate when it's time to be rid of the Old vehicles. Corrosion Metal fatigue, Bad Paint and reduced safety features, also. Modern cars are More value for Money than many other items. I tend to Keep them Longer than most People I Know. but I look after them better than most People I Know... Nev
  16. I don't think you have agreed with anything I've said, so it's just More of the same to me. Nev
  17. I doubt that would require much of it. Alloying with steel is common for strength and corrosion resistance. Nev
  18. There was a Butter factory at Hexham called NORCO . ( North coast). Confession. I've never been a booby gawker to any great extent. Putting a sharp edged thing in your mouth is a bit risky. Nev
  19. Plenty of other used for Nickel. Nev
  20. I understand if they Pass the required inspection they go back into service for another 10 years. That's the situation with LPG Tanks in vehicles. Number of cycles matters in aircraft Hulls. That's related to metal fatigue. With hydrogen you get embrittlement of the metal. Nev
  21. Motivation I would say, How would you know they had the ready money? Maybe they borrowed it? Nev
  22. Before a bottle is refilled its inspected and tested. IF you don't use much, you miss out on the Inspections and are being charged for something you aren't getting.. Acetylene is more complex than Oxygen. (more Unstable) and risky. .Nev
  23. The main mod is the rear hub (and brake) and the 21 inch front rim I can't see what the Hoo Hah is. He's not hurting anybody and it's his bike. Today you can easily spend enough on a WLA to have way more money invested in it than you will ever get for it... The best way to get a good one is to buy a good one. There's no shortage of them here. Later restorations may have non original parts. I've never seen a non original part that was superior to an original. The latest repro mudguards have become acceptable for quality and look. As I said the original star hubs used on the rear have been all used up. There are repros at a cost that are OK but don't have the "Look". That seat was very IN with the civilianised WD surplus bikes the went on the road just after the war . The seat sits further back than the Military one does. I have a mate who has on still in the crate.. They were treated with tropic proof Waxes to inhibit them from corrosion. Nev
  24. The original star hubs are running out. They are 85 years old. Nev
  25. It's somebody's idea of desirable. Why even THINK of having a Law against it.? It's only a consumable and they are not rare or very quick. . USA is a bit hooked on chrome. It will Probably run OK for years. Nev
