  1. Many Hollywood stars are quitting the US and moving to the UK following Trump's win. There is also a rumor that Harry and Megan are planning to return before he gets deported.
  2. The problem is, too many people spend money on stuff they don't need. They see it on the TV, or a 'must have' on the internet, and buy it whether they need it or not. I'm saving a lot of money (in my bank account) by saying NO. I see things and think, Ooh, that looks nice, but stop myself buying it. Whether it's some fancy doodad from Global Shop Direct, or a nice cream donut at the mall, I walk away with my money in my pocket. I'm trying something else tonight. We normally have pizza every second Friday night. We've been using the one pizza shop for about 25 years. But the price of a pizza has gone up to $18. Tonight we are trying a frozen pizza from Aldi, costing $4.99. Yes, we have to cook it, but that won't cost $13.00.

    Brain Teaser

I am well aware that there may be some that have been presented before, and I said so a few days ago. When I started posting these questions, I had to type most of them out, and if they involved graphics, occasionally I would photograph the screen, crop the image and post it. This was inconvenient, time consuming and I couldn't do it every time. Then, a couple of months ago, I discovered that the shows, all seasons since the beginning, could be accessed and streamlined on the internet. These streamed programs could be paused, wound back and frozen as required. Then, using a Microsoft snipping tool, I could crop and screen print the question/image. I chose not to read through 55 pages of this thread to see if the odd one had been entered before. I use the old questions when the programs are repeated on TV, or all my saved screen-prints have been used. In most cases the ones I post are from the latest episode, and will not be repeats. If you are not happy with that, maybe you'd like to take over, or I will stop posting any more questions.
  6. They were warned by so many people, from entertainers to his own former colleagues and his own neice that he was the worst person to put in charge of the country, but the brain dead MAGA supporters swallowed his bullshit hook line and sinker. They fell for his hollow promise "I WILL FIX IT". The idiots believe that all the ills they feel have been brought about through the policies of the Democrats. They think America is the only place suffering inflation and high cost of living. "As ye sow, so shall ye reap" will bite them in the arse. But it may be too late to recover. The only thing worse is that Vance could take over what may be left. if anything will be.

  13. When you read some of the wrap up reports, you wonder what world these guys are living on, or were theso-called fact checkeers calling out Trumps untruths feeding the world a load of garbage. Everything the Republicans say have been stuffed up by the Dems, the fact checkers claimed are better than they were under Trump. The economy, stock market, employment were supposedly better under the Dems. These are the things the Reps say are screwed.

  15. Capital Gains Tax is normally paid when the asset is realised, sold. The tax is calculated on the difference between purchase price and sale price. The government is considering an Unrealised Capital Gains Tax. The tax will becharged on the difference between the purchase price and the current value at 30 June, even if the asset is not sold. The threshold is reported to be #=$3 mill. The key characteristic of unrealized capital gains is that they exist solely on paper, representing potential profits that are yet to be realized through a sale. So if you own a farm worth $3 mill, or a self managed super fund with assets of two houses worth $1.5 each, you will be requirewd to pay tax on the capital gains, even ifd you don't sell. Some people may be forced to sell all or part of their assets to pay the tax. This will have a serious impact on farmers or the retirement fundsa of self managed super holders. You could pay the tax the suffer a capital loss if the value of the asset drops.

  18. The mountain coined the 'beating heart of climbing in Australia' by rock climbers is set to be closed following a secretive four year investigation into its cultural heritage. Up to half of the tracks around Victoria's Mount Arapiles, in the state's west, will be closed after Parks Victoria found tens of thousands of Indigenous artefacts, scarred trees and rock art. The mountain is known around the world as an incredible rock climbing site with its closure likely to have devastating consequences on local Natimuk community by diminishing tourism. Mt Arapiles' shutdown will also lead to the shutting of the iconic Pines campground. The Victorian government shared news of the closure on Monday, just months after Premier Jacinta Allan promised she wouldn't 'padlock' Victoria's state forests.
