I read on Yahoo News this morning that many councils are rolling out parking meters (spelt metres in the article) where you must pay by phone ap, not cash, or even tap card. Just as well I don't go anywhere that has parking meters, I don't have cash aps on my phone. Unfortunately, I am going to be forced into it, kicking and screaming.

News today the State debt will blow out by a further $840,000,000 due to costs with the Suburban Rail Loop, and an email today from the local member, John Mullahy MP, ALP, stating that the tunneling machines to create the loop will arrive in 2026. How much will the bloody thing cost before it opens? I t has already been reported that it fails cost benefit scrutiny.

Much and all as I think cash should be retained, I rarely carry any notes, just a few coins. Particularly a 10c to unlock those confounded chain locks on shopping trolleys. I was told a $1 coin was required, but I have found that 10c does work. Groceries, petrol, lotto, and anything else I buy are paid for by EFTPOS card. I don't buy much online, but when I do I use my credit card. Bills are paid by direct debit or Bpay.
