  1. Lets not lie to ourselves. most immigration is welcomed because of the $$$ Philippine's are welcome in the Arab states as its a cheap work-force to exploit. pacific Islanders are welcome for the construction industry and manual labor Asians and Indians are welcome here because of the wealth they bring with them. (yeah there are poor ones that get in, but the target is the wealthy)
  2. yeah, it is understandable. but there is lots of places that idolize western (especially American) culture and influence. Liberia is a prime example. they have a history tied to the USA Sierra Leone was similar. independent from Britain, But I had no issues with the color of my skin when I lived there. if anything it was the opposite with people welcoming me
  3. most of the African nations would be happy to take immigrants with money, well maybe not south Africa Brazil historically?
  4. part of me goes "how the F*&k do you get it stuck there" another part thinks its actually a great idea for disposing of old busses. the middle door is perfect for fishing
  5. to add some perspective, 16hp from 50cc is equivalent to 256hp at 800cc (my Ducati monster is 800cc and 80hp) or at 1000cc, 320hp (a modern MotoGP bike is 250hp, production V4R Ducati with the race exhaust, and race oil is about 240hp)
  6. Oh the stories and opinion I have on this.... the Ulysses club turning up to a protest on mandatory Fluro vest for motorcyclists...... while wearing their Fluro vests. used to call the dress-up bikies "gay pirates" even Harley-Davidson themselves say they are a lifestyle company. they make more money off clothing and accessory sales then motorcycles. even funnier to see them all whining the other day that some veterans were refused service at a pub.... yep... the Vietnam veterans MC, all wearing the vests with the club name and skull on the back - which they refused to take off on a Friday evening dinner service - so got the outlaw treatment from the staff, yet whine on Facebook as for the 50cc isle of man bikes - those things were awesome. the honda was a twin that revved to over 20,000rpm and still has the best power to displacement figure. 16hp going through a 9 speed gearbox. allowing it to do 175km/h
  7. was on another forum I used to use, just a general place for musings etc... Today I had a new "thats doing well in life" moment, sending parts to a customer, got his address.... XXXX valley suburb state postcode asked for the street number.... oh no there isn't one, that's the property. admittedly it was a cattle property. but still imagine having a enough land that you get your own address
  8. I don't know, the subs are pretty modular today. they cut shut and weld the subs all the time making them longer or repairing damage when they crash into sea mountains. or just to refuel the reactor. and if my memory is correct, most of the important stuff on the ship is purposely left off the bridge. as its the first thing targeted, the controls including steering are deeper into the hull. the bridge is something that can be rebuilt more easily.
  9. problem I find with Pauline, is the same one I have with Jacquie Lambie.... They say some good stuff.... but they are the wrong people to be saying it. Be like the big 4 banks suggesting how to end rising mortgage costs...
  10. Anyone reading the land title cases that have conveniently been popping up in the media at the moment. with local councils fighting the claims for huge amounts of land. And the aboriginal response being basically "we don't have access to usage records etc.., so we are just trying to claim everything and see what sticks"
  11. the metals and manufacturing techniques are what set the USA up for technological superiority IMO. how many times do you look at the history of an alloy or material and discover its original purpose was related to the space race. solar panels, insulation, water filtration, air purifiers, digital imaging, scratch resistant lenses, insulin pumps, firefighting gear (polymers and coolant system for the suits), cordless vacuum (originally the dust buster was created for taking soil samples) tires (the belts for radials were developed for parachute shrouds on mars landers), wireless headsets, smoke detector, CAT scans, grooved runways, workout machines, infrared thermometers - they all originated from Nasa tech created for space exploration
  12. I doubt its for drone strikes. putting up netting to catch the drone above it would be more effective. Boeing made an entire fake neighborhood above their factory in WW2 the tires would probably focus the blast more it anything. looking into it, its a story created by Ukrainian bloggers. which the military analysts have said is possible, but more likely an attempt at camouflage to throw off automated targeting systems of cruise missiles. personally I think its more likely to be an attempt at weather protection. adding weight and disrupting the airflow while its out on the apron
  13. Yeah, though is it odd that I trust SBS more for news?
  14. you mean something like an public funded, fully accountable media organization. that that has a mandated impartiality, that is audited 4 times a year.
  15. not sure in the BMW frame. assume its as they want low range tractor type torque for long distance touring but more reliable then a Harley in the 60's
  16. eh been done for years boss hoss is probably the most succesful Amazonas in Brazil used local production VW engines an engine swap that has been done numerous times to other motorcycles of the era
  17. there is a few 4 wheel motorcycles, usually as they use a car engine
  18. Its a good trick, the 25 extra pages was a nice one too. with the Uluru statement... bet they wish the meeting notes weren't submitted with it now. gave plenty of ammunition with the talk of reparation's they contained I think I found the answer.... the Yes campaign needs this guy
  19. @Jerry_Atrick I agree with your statements. I think this is a failing of the message, doesn't matter how good it is if you cant communicate effectively. With the yes arguments first response being to yell racist, or that your a bad person if you don't support us. Virtue signaling, Instead of education and addressing peoples concern. I am willing to talk and discuss my views here as its a forum with reasonable (in the legal sense) people.... But I would never ever discuss this on Facebook. it turns people off, and I suspect if it fails. Its because the information wasn't communicated clearly. The No argument seeds questions, and the Yes argument shouts and waves flags, and paints the side of airplanes, instead of answering them. I think this is why the polling keeps showing the support dropping. people don't like being called names or being belittled and will respond in secret at the ballot box. I'll be honest I would be tempted to vote No purely out of spite.... but I think this issue is more important then that.
  20. I have no issue with it being a referendum, I just take issue with it being so... incomplete I would like to know the wording that is being added to the constitution, not just that they will add some. Edit found it: “Chapter IX Recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples 129 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice In recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia: there shall be a body, to be called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice; the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice may make representations to the Parliament and the Executive Government of the Commonwealth on matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; the Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws with respect to matters relating to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice, including its composition, functions, powers and procedures.”
  21. I'm voting No just on the question. far too open ended and no real policy. I cant support a "we will figure out how it works later" approach. worked great for Brexit.... why cant they just table the bill. and have it vote yes or no the voice amendment as presented to Parliament by xyz MP on the X/X/2022
  22. not necessarily, your missing out on weight transference during cornering. the load on the inside wheel will be greater then the outside wheel. and depending on the stage through the corner either the front (entry) or rear (exit) will be loaded differently too.
  23. My banks phone app lets me do this, shows the balance on the home screen. But have to login to actually make any transactions
  24. so I'm officially old. been having movement problems the last month or two. had put it down to Vitamin D and B deficiencies in the blood work. but wasn't recovering as fast as it should.... well X-rays came back today and I have arthritis in my hips. not what I expected to hear at 31yrs old
  25. didn't know about these. Australia has been sending Ukraine cardboard drones https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.smh.com.au%2Fpolitics%2Ffederal%2Faussie-cardboard-drones-used-in-attack-on-russian-airfield-20230829-p5e0bv.html
