Nev,

Aircooled rules the roost for classic machines. But 75-80 HP per litre for bikes was the sweet spot. Both the Guzzi and Beemer fell in that range.

Both made of high quality materials and not to a price. Guzzi switchgear excepted.

My Lario is the bike I always wanted. A compact, lighter, better-breathing version of the Le Mans. On both it and my wife's V-50 I've kept up with mates on both bush tracks and fast highways. It seems to have similar steering geometry to the Beemers.

Unfortunately, you can't have everything. The Guzzi transmits more punishment from the road than my K-75 brick did. No substitute for heavy strong chasis and suspension for coping with road bumps.

Unrestricted Subaru exhausts sound like it's running with one plug lead off. The best sound is a 911 E on song or a Sea Fury /Bristol freighter starting.. Nev

Excuse me, came late to this thread. Just want to say that I saw one of these at Canberra years ago. Agree fully that the Bristol engine sounded wonderful.Don.
