"One year seeding. Seven years weeding." The idea is to knock the seed bearing parts off before the seeds mature and add another seven years to the need to weed. Where the mower won't get 'em, the chipping hoe will.

 

I count myself lucky that despite the usual high and dry summer temperatures, there have been enough bouts of heavy rainfall to allow the Buffalo grass I am trying to establish to do what I'm hoping for. Just had a look at the weather radar and there's a band of light rain coming my way.
