Marty_d Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 All I can tell you is how my kids handled it. They loved it! We're fortunate enough to live on 5 acres. The kids were home schooled while the schools were shut - my wife turned out to be excellent at teaching and missed it when they went back. (Me, not so much. I'm not a natural teacher.) Every day they went for a walk at about 11am and they knocked off after lunch, having done more school work in the morning than they usually did at school. In the afternoon they were sent outside where they made cubby houses and lit a campfire every day. When they got back to school our 12yo's teacher said that he'd grown in confidence and was easily handling the material that he'd been having trouble with before the shut down. I'm as worried about the future for work etc for them as I ever was, but it won't be because of the blip in their school life because of Covid. 1
