Atheist knowledge

Have souls ever been found to have mass? When you "give up the ghost" is there a mass loss? If there was that would indicate something worth discussing. My reference to atoms and molecules is strictly non contentious I would have thought. You probably have some of Bill Shaxberd's atoms in you turbs. Nev

GG . I shouldn't reply because YOU always assume some thing about people's responses. I have the option of 'talking" with you, but I find it totally pointless.. You use every form of emotional blackmail and allege insincerity in everyone but yourself.. YOU have the moral high ground according to you. You don't care what others say .You always know better. Good point, there should be a mass increase in the earthly body when the soul arrives and a mass decrease when it departs. Just a question of who sees spirits and how to they manage to be there at the time with a set of scales I suppose.

I did imply your reference to atoms and molecules was just interesting, not the starting point for a thesis on Souls.

I never understood a word Bill Shaxberd said.

One thing I have in common with believers, is a certainty of life after death. Just not my own life.

When I die, all of me disintegrates and is reused.

Just like before I existed. Isn't that a wonderful thing?

I try to do the right thing for my own sense of self worth, not for the dubious reward of eternal life.

I'm not important enough to live forever and I certainly don't want to.

Given that atheists can be good and ethical people, why do we need to believe in a deity. For what rational reason?

Believing in something is fine but in all seriousness, a true atheist can't believe in a deity.

Not a matter of choice.

Naturally, it would be easier to conform - be like the rest, but I hate lying to myself. I would have to pretend.

I wonder how many believers are doing just that.

We are all frightened of dying to some degree. It's natural for all living beings. But if we look around us, we see that everything has a beginning and end. Rather beautiful isn't it?

What everyone needs to know is we are all to be judged. Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment"

I hope you are not judged too harshly for your intolerance GG. It's not too late to repent.

You are very judgemental GG. "Judge NOT lest ye be judged". is advice from your good book. There's other references toomote in your eye etc.

We all existed before birth and after death as the molecules and atoms we are constructed of. The earth is a pretty much closed system. Not much is added or removed even over a very long time. Nev.

Go back far enough, we're all made from stardust. Surely that mind-blowing concept has enough beauty and power all by itself to negate the need to make up more.

Interesting thread this and so far I've stayed out of it as I have my own views. However, let me say this, yes, Facthunter, the soul does have weight. Google it. Also, re your reference to ' Judge not etc ', yes we will be judged, but not by whom you suspect. You will judge yourself in order to know what you must improve on in the next life so that you continue to climb the celestial ladder. For those of you who don't believe in reincarnation, open those closed gates in your mind and again, do the research. BTW, those gates were open when you were born.

If reincarnation exists, and yet no-one remembers anything about all their previous lives, then it may as well not exist.

Ahh, but some people do remember their previous lives, under hypnosis and there are also cases of children remembering.

Yes, and it's incredible how many of them turned out to have lived as royalty and other major historical figures...

Seriously though, we have this incredible existence and we may turn out to be unique in the universe (it took 3.8 billion years for intelligence to develop on this planet, which is almost a third of the entire life of the universe). The world around us is full of fascinating life, we haven't even explored this world fully - then there's an entire universe out there to explore, with possibly thousands if not millions of other "goldilocks" planets which have the potential to sustain life.

And what do we do with this intelligence? Try to discover or invent ever more bizarre, unprovable theories about what happens after we're dead (or before we're conceived).

Yesterday mankind (or at least, a group of highly intelligent members of the species) landed a spacecraft on a comet 500 million kilometers from Earth, after travelling for 10 years. This craft will analyse the comet's composition in order to confirm, or disprove, the theory that comet impacts in Earths formative eons delivered water and carbon molecules.

To me, that's a more significant contribution to the human race than every supernatural invention since the dawn of humanity.

The most poignant memories come from children due to the fact that as we age, we close the gates on memory. There are however, a few adults who still have strong links to their past lives, even with no hypnotism. The case of Jenny Cockell very much to the point.

On another tangent, how about some of the famous psychic's like Deb Webber. Who time and time again, contact spirits and get specific information that they could only have got from the spirit they are in contact with.

Deb the person who makes up false details? Non existent dead relatives? She has been exposed, as have ALL so-called psychics. Not one as ever passed truly scientific test - same for water diviners, and all that ilk. Particularly nasty breed, who prey on peoples sufferings.

But, there are always people who are easily fooled, and quick to part with their money.

Harry Houdini spent a lot of time trying to contact his dead mother, and ended up becoming psychics' worst nightmares as he took on a personal campaign to discredit them.

I don't think it would appreciated if I posted graphic evidence of what is happening but folks that would like to know can search for it.

There are 2.5 times more abortions per head of population in Australia than China - go search for that.

I can just imagine what you think happens when a woman gets pregnant for a second time, soldiers arriving and dragging her off at gunpoint to some medical facility to be aborted etc .... I think less Hollywood for you.

But anyway, what an irony that people with so much hate in their hearts actually need something like religion in their lives, but at the same time that religion is teaching to hate.

Of course Harry never believed in Psychics and had an arrangement with his mother to give him a sign from the other side, obviously, after she died. She never did.

He was convinced Psychics were frauds before his mum carked it. He spent a lot of time and money exposing the charlatans.

I can just tell this is a highly informed comment, we use water divining in our day to day work life to find water pipes, don' t take anybody down, or mislead a sole. The only thing that makes divining NOT WORK is if the diviner has a pre-concieved idea of what he/she is going to find! Done with an open mind it is very accurate, particularly if the water is flowing!

How about that kiwi fella Kelvin Cruikshank ( or something like that) who has or had a TV show called Sensing murder. He is employed by police to help in cold cases snd has had a great deal of success.
