Litespeed Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 My pooch has a titanium pelvis repair and three legs courtesy of a pricks rottie. It was worth every penny. She was 3 then and now at 17 this month she is going strong .long hair chihuahua refuse to die_ longest lived breed. Her mate is 18 and still rapes his bed after a good chicken dinner. And will dance for a prawn. See there is a Dog.
Marty_d Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Her mate is 18 and still rapes his bed after a good chicken dinner. There's probably a lot of 18 year olds like that!
Litespeed Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 There's probably a lot of 18 year olds like that! Very true, but he is way over 100 in dog years. Living prove if you play and root like a teenager all you life, you live long and die happy.
DonRamsay Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Getting a few teeth removed does wonders for their breath as well. Ours looked like he was on his last legs but after a few (7!) teeth were extracted he bounced back to great vitality. And his mouth doesn't smell worse than his other end now.

He was a Dachshund and I can't bring myself to get another dog.
DonRamsay Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Sad when they get that old, they are not so able to get out of the way. I hope it was quick Dazza.
facthunter Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 My dog and a tiger snake got each other. He had lost most of his sight and probably walked over it. The only dog I've ever owned. He adopted me years ago at a farm. Nev

Unfortunately he broke his pelvis and it took approx 10 minutes to get him into the vet and have him put to sleep. The vet is only 1.5 kays from home.
bexrbetter Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 He was a Dachshund and I can't bring myself to get another dog. Yup, it's a hard slog, had 6 in total and had to take 2 of them for the green needle, 2 got by cars, one I had to give away (that's the hardest of the lot) and one of old age. My sister just lost her 11 year old dog last week. As sad as it is, it's good life cycle education for Kids as they grow up.

Geoff13 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 We lost one on my daughters 17th birthday. He was 17.5 years old, she had never known life without him. Nothing beats a cold nose stuck into a sad face to kick the blues.
Litespeed Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Yes through all of life's up and downs, the fur kids have always been there. Even on the bed when my love Jane passed from Cancer. Dogs provide love and friendship without conditions
eightyknots Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 We need a groan icon! Perhaps use this one?
Marty_d Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Apparently Troy Newman (the US anti-abortion wanker who believes doctors who perform abortions should be executed) has said that god arranged for him to get to Australia without a visa. Now he's being booted out without attending any of his speaking engagements. God moves in mysterious ways....
nomadpete Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Marty , are suggesting that a god, in whom you have no belief, has an opinion on the activities of mere mortal folk?
Marty_d Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Sorry Pete - might have been a bit subtle there... I was being ironic.

God moves in mysterious ways.... How on Earth did that end up costing us money defending it in the High Court? Sure, he now has to pay costs, but he won't.
Marty_d Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 How on Earth did that end up costing us money defending it in the High Court? Sure, he now has to pay costs, but he won't. At least he had to pay a return ticket to Aus. Unless he sues the government for that.
bexrbetter Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Just read; "Thank God my wife is still with me, she's just gone through breast cancer ..." Well who the geebeezers gave her "breast cancer"?
Marty_d Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Jeez Bex, don't you understand? It's simple: - Anything good, it's thanks to god. - Anything bad, well, it's not god's fault, but it's part of his big plan. (This plan is able to cope with massive amounts of human misery and suffering by innocent people, including children who die from all sorts of malnutrition, disease, starvation etc, because god's plan doesn't include condoms or any other sort of family planning. Just ask Troy.) (Basically, god's plan is specifically for heterosexual men who live above the poverty line. The plan works better the higher you are above the poverty line, the more secular and free from conflict your country is, and the higher the amount of education, nutrition, family support and fulfilling work you have.) * Note for those who don't get the irony: I don't believe in this sh1t. *
nomadpete Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 No need to be like that. I get it already. But I do know quite a few people who would be nodding their heads in a sincere agreement with your observations. Please don't say anything unpleasant about them. They're family. :-)

facthunter Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 And it's in Aviation Laughter and started just over a year ago, with thread title "Atheist Knowledge" 2647 posts back.. Nev.
eightyknots Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Wow, this is starting to catch up on a few other "big post" threads. Anything over 1,000 posts is pretty rare in this forum.
facthunter Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 How many casualties? Anyone been struck by lightning? Nev
