red750 Posted June 28 Author Posted June 28 Correct Marty. The last line is not a question - no question mark.
onetrack Posted July 3 Posted July 3 A postbox always has more letters in it, than a single envelope!
red750 Posted July 3 Author Posted July 3 It's kind of a trick question, and you have to read it carefully. "WORD" is in capitals, so the number of letters is in the words, not the objects. "Envelope" has 8 letters, "Postbox" has 7 letters. So the answer to the question is Envelope. Answer the following question. Pwhich pof thep followingp plives pin thep seap? BOLT CLAMP SCREW
red750 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Yes, remove all the P's and you are left with CLAM. I'll add the next when I get home from the Men's Shed.
red750 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Which is the longest word in this question that contains none of the letters in the word ‘One’?
red750 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 You are right, the question answers itself. If “left” is “right” and “wrong” is also “right”, what is “easy” and also “soft”

red750 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Correct Pete, the other three words SOUND LIKE letters, Y, R, U, 'sounds like' being the clue. A brother and sister take their dog for a walk. The sister jogs at an average of 8 km per hour while the brother walks at an average of 4 km per hour. The dog runs a constant 10 km per hour back and forth between them and he does not stop at any point. After an hour, how far will the dog have run?
red750 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Correct Onetrack. 1 hour at 10 km per hour. Which of these UK towns is the odd one out? Sidmouth Gateshead Hitchin Whitby

He will have run 10km bur not back and forth between them because he runs past both of them at the start so he never turns back. 1
onetrack Posted July 4 Posted July 4 (edited) Hitchin is a land-bound market town - Gateshead, Whitby and Sidmouth are all coastal towns. Edited July 4 by onetrack
red750 Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Pete is right with this one. The last syllable of the other three are body parts - you have to understand how these questions are devised. You could answer this even if you knew nothing about the towns. All the information required is in the question. The same applies with the dog question. It runs a constant 10kmh without stopping, so in 1 hour it will run 10 km. All the other stuff is just to confuse you. Which four letter word is missing from this list? Spot opts pots stop tops ????
red750 Posted July 5 Author Posted July 5 Yes. If 2, 3 and 10 go together, and 6 and 7 go together, which two out Of 1, 4, 5 ,8 and 9 are a pair?
