red750
Ok. I'll set you right. It's 3rd Sept. The month is determined by the first initial, and the date by the number of letters in the name. So Sam is 3 September.
Marty_d
Ah. On my phone screen I read the days for each as 5, instead of 8 and 5. That makes sense.
red750
re Tuesday's question. The logic of this question is difficult, and I don't know how the writers came up with it. The dates depend on the position of the word in the question. The "6th" is the sixth word and the "15th" is the 15th word. The "*" is the 24th word, so Amir's birthday is the 24th of January. How one is expected to work that out in 30 seconds is beyond me. Must be getting too old. I'm not sure the delay in getting a response is because the question is too difficult, or people are losing interest. Simple ones get answered quickly, but the harder ones are taking some time. Are you enjoying the questions and wish me to continue, or should I let it go? I have about 30 questions stored, and some of them are doozies. Here's the next one of the current lot. Marty_d
Here's one from Radio National this morning. Jane is walking in a train tunnel. She is a quarter of the way through the tunnel when she hears the horn of a train behind her. If she runs either forward to the far end, or back to the start of the tunnel, at her top speed of 20km/h, she will avoid the train. How fast is the train going?
