Here's one from the radio this morning.

Two pirates sit down to split loot of AROUND 300 coins. However there is 1 coin left over.

They call in a third pirate and decide to split it 3 ways. However there's still 1 coin left over.

So they call in a 4th, a 5th then a 6th. But there's still 1 coin left over.

Finally,  when they split it 7 ways, each of the 7 pirates gets an equal share.

How many coins were there in the original loot?

' second paragraph '

" Around 300 coins " , 300÷ 3= 100 coins , for each of three pirates .

BUT

If I multiply 7X42 it equates to 2107.

Must be ' Higher ' mathematics.

Correct again. In the 24 hour lock, the hours and minutes of all the other match, eg 06:06.

What is the next number that completes this sequence?

4  2  3  4  6  4  9  4  *

If you zoom in, the red arrow is pointing to the alien's Phantom ring. A dead give-away.

The answer is 8. The numbers represent the number of letters in each word of the question. The final contestant in the competition got it right in 30 seconds, and went home with $100,000.
