AMAZING ONE WORD RIDDLE.

Never in a million years would I have come up with the answer.

 

What if this was the only question on the exam paper to pass your English Exam.

Would you pass?

 

What nine letter word in the English language is still a word when eight letters are removed one by one?

 

Take a few minutes to try and come up with a nine letter word that fits

I thought about this all night and today looked at the question again, to see if the letters had to be removed from the end, they don't. I was thinking along the lines of A for one letter An for two letters And for 3 and so on but didn't pursue it to an ending due to mental laziness,
