onetrack Posted December 2 Posted December 2 You might all like to count up the number of outright criminals that Trump has pardoned - and will continue to pardon on an industrial scale, as long as they continue to support him - and compare that figure, with just ONE pardon that Joe Biden has issued for his wayward son. The scary part is, many of those convicted outright criminals pardoned by Trump will now serve in important positions in the incoming Trump presidency - unless they turned on him, of course, in which case, they'll probably be sent back to jail. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Kushner 2

onetrack Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Ronald Reagan made all Americans feel more wealthy by borrowing to the hilt and increasing the U.S. Govt debt to astronomical levels, that no President since has ever been able to reduce. Donald Trump is going to do the same thing - wreck the U.S. economy for the next incoming President and the dozen Presidents after that - all the while bragging about the wondrous things he's done for the American people. If vastly increased tariffs, major job losses, mass deportations, and vastly increased prices for everything from fuel to food, means Making America Great Again, then yes, it will be great for the money lenders, financial products gamblers, and the stock market shorters. 1
facthunter Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Ronnie had God and said "WE are in the Last Days" so Climate and maybe debt didn't matter. European Governments said There's no point talking to Bush Jr. He ONLY talks to God. Personally I'd prefer someone who wants to look after the Only Planet we'll ever be suited for and Understands there is a WHOLE world Not Just the USA. and wherever they are fighting at the time. Jerry_Atrick Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Biden's recent legacy is holding on too long during the campaign as a runner and leaving it too late for the Democrats to pick a leader and take a strategy to the people, thereby allowing Trump in. We always save the worst for the reminders. I have to admit, you can throw the middle east and Ukraine conflict on ineffectiveness, as he really dragged his heals on both. And, then of curse, there is Hunter Biden issue, too. But let's not have too short memories - the egregious pardons by Trump in his last presidency, and the ones he promises for his next tenure leave Biden's way in the rear view mirror. However, domestically, his inflation reduction act brought economic respite to very tough times and is forward thinking in infrastructure investment as well as tackling real issues about the environment. In addition, his general economic policies, social agenda, etc have so far born fruit as just about all economic indicators are up from the previous "administration" The long term cost of the inflation reduction act is to play out.. A lot more debt on an already debt-burdened country can result in outcomes not consistent with what is being sought. 1

As predicted. It seems impossible on this forum to debate any critisism of Biden without responses of what about Trump as an argument. ok, I get it, what about Trump? There's other threads about Trump. The issue was about Biden's record, not Trump's. Here's a challenge, let's see if we can get through another page or two on this topic without the cracked record of what about Trump rearing it's head. I have my doubts, but let's see. 1
facthunter Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Wille Might be a good idea IF you get some info from Joe's Lawyers and how Hunter was singled out for "Unusual" treatment re the Pistol matter and the Tax debt was paid back WITH INTEREST added and LAST minute reneging by the Prosecutors Of a Promise. You've only got one side of it mate. Reflect on how their GRAND JURY would have treated ASSANGE Pompeo wanted him murdered. HIS SAFETY could NOT be assured.. WE probably have Better JUSTICE HERE. facthunter Posted December 3 Posted December 3 (edited) Remember how the Speaker Nancy Polosi 's Husband was Beaten with a hammer near to death. The Dems get demonised and blamed for everything bad that happens or is imagined. . That's the situation that exists. They don't even Intermarry. .There's NO Interference with their GUNS allowed. . old man emu Posted December 3 Posted December 3 I wonder what sort of penalty a Court would have imposed on Hunter. As I see it, the firearm possession charge would have been a 'back up' charge, possibly suitably penalised by a fine, if that was an available penalty in the law pertaining to the offence. Don't forget that a certain Florida resident was also in possession of a firearm after conviction, but, correctly, the matter wasn't pursued. If the tax debt was paid in accordance with the taxation laws, then, once again it could be argued that a fine would have sufficed as penalty. How many other people are dealt with in the same way? Biden's error was preempting the Court. As we look at it today, it does sully his reputation, but we must remember that the people gave their Presidents the authority to act in this way. Not many used it (???), but Biden did. That he did it as he was opening the office door preparatory to leave, is what might worsen our opinion of him. 1
facthunter Posted December 3 Posted December 3 He didn't pre-empt the Court. That process had been exhausted and it was quite evident he would NOT get JUSTICE. Joe no doubt will wear the opprobrium to correct what should NEVER have happened as most people would were they in HIS circumstances.. Nev 1
willedoo Posted December 3 Author Posted December 3 It seems like a lot of presidential pardons are given as the president is preparing to leave office. I'm only speculating here but Biden probably gave those past statements about not pardoning his son because he feared the political fallout if he stated that intention with an election looming. Now that the Democrat ship has hit the rocks, any political fallout from changing his stance will be only temporary and not an election issue as it would have been previously. So it looks like he's gone to Plan B as there's very little to lose politically and lot's to gain for him and his family. 1

kgwilson Posted December 3 Posted December 3 (edited) The US considers itself the bastion of democracy and freedom but the reality is far from that. While Joe has been President the US stayed pretty steady, the economic indexes improved, inflation went down as did unemployment, climate change was an issue with green energy and renewables high on the agenda but perceptions of what was happening and where they were headed spiraled downward. Reality verses perception, all in a post truth world where now perception IS reality. The US national debt is now over $36 trillion. take a look at the debt clock, the interest payments alone are now more than $US 20,400 per adult. Only a few years ago they stopped paying government workers as they did not want the debt to get higher that $US13 trillion. I wonder where the tipping point is. We may find out in the next 4 years.
