You're right. If humankind's history, petty and grand, were shown to scale, it would be the blink of an eye.

Slight point of order...

 

It was showing microbes before DNA strands.... You need DNA in the first place to make up the proteins of the organelles of microbes and to transfer the code form one cell to two during cell division (mitosis).
