This morning during our Sunday covid coffee zoom meeting with relatives across Australia and the world I learnt of a very cool substance called Fordite.    My sister in law has just ordered a pair of earrings made from Fordite

I saw a mountain of it !.

ICI, DERBY.Used to pump all their paint residue into the canal.Saying it was cbeaper to pay the fines, than sendiing it to the tip !.

After the canal was filled then turned into a car park, the paint ( many colours ) went all the way back up to the pipes & stopped that flow, 

Ending the FORDITE production.  It stood there for a few years.
