To my surprise, someone in FB was actually doing their job, as the ad and the scammer were promptly deleted - an all-time record for FB.

It might have been that or he might have deleted himself after hoovering up enough deposits from people.

Here's what I think is a scam, on Facebook. They post what is supposed to be a test with the catchline "Only those with perfect vision will find the odd number", and paste a panel like this. (I highlighted the odd numbers.)

tinyhouse.thumb.jpg.1e1cfb3ae3845345d9b762c0128dd5b5.jpg

They say they are offering huge prizes, in this case a tiny house and $70,000 cash. One prize has been won, 5 more to be won. That in itself is red flag No. 1. Who gives away that much on such a slim pretext.

Anyway, I answered for a laugh, saying I found four different numbers, and listed them. Within half an hour I received a personal message saying "Congratulations, you are a lucky winner of a tiny house and $70,000." I texted back, "I live in Australia, How do I claim my prize?" They replied "Advise details of your Walmart membership and we will credit the money to it." Red flag No. 2.

I texted back "Walmart does not operate in Australia." They replied, "Go online and get an Apple card." Red flag No. 3. I texted, "It's after midnight here. I think this is a scam. Too many red flags." I haven't heard anything else since.

He's just an arrogant rich prick who thinks he's been elected to run the world by virtue of acquiring the title of the Richest Man in the World. Did you see him trying to arrange for the British politicians he doesn't like, to resign?? He makes Trump look tame by comparison.

He’s a nutcase. He might even scare Trump because he’s so much richer and in some ways more influential. Trump doesn’t like competition from someone he can’t easily intimidate. Will be interesting to see what happens when they don’t want to be on the same team anymore.

Built by scammers for scammers should be their motto.

I wish I hadn't deleted my Facebook account back in 2016.

If I still had an account I would get great satisfaction from deleting it today - just to make a tiny point. But I can't delete it twice!

Be good IF we could delete Musk and Zuckerburg. Unelected "filthy RICH" people should never have such power Nor should Murdoch have such a near monopoly of media as he has HERE. He's a US Citizen NOT an Australian even though he owns the Loss Making AUSTRALIAN newspaper. THAT tile is a deceit . It's HIS BIG POLITICAL GUN. Nev

On the subject of scams, here's a classic piece of corporate scamming that is typical of the deviousness that has infiltrated every major financial operation in the world.

I trust that the influencers win their case, but of course, any major payout will mean little to a global corporation that is so rich, it can afford to pay out on lawsuits won by aggrieved parties, without batting an eyelid.

Here's one that possibly belongs in this thread:

For years, BHP has had an agreement to not hire casual coal miners. So they allegedly have been using outsourced labour companies to hire casual coal miners on their behalf.

This work-around has reportedly resulted in some miners being paid up to $1000/week less than the hiring mob collect.

According to one report, two of these hiring companies have a close ownership connection to BHP.

The story has been  going on since 2010 - and possibly billions have been  saved from BHP's wage bill over the years.

Not much mention in the MSM though.

Not just " miners " but most ' labour hire ' companies  .

Worker ( years ago ) were paid $ 3.00 ph , were the company was getting $ 17.75 Ph.

Three year Max for casual worker didn't count , as the 'labour hire ' firm . Was a contract.

Plus those workers were not insured.

Exploitation of workers is RIFE everywhere. That's what Qantas Ex CEO did and they just got awarded a big Correction Payout. It doesn't get rectified very often though, but the LAW has just  been changed . NOW penalties for underpaying exist., and they are substantial. Nev

Maybe I shot myself in the foot, but I've had fun playing with this guy.

A lot of these type quizzes come up on Facebook.

Find the number other than 80.

findtheoddno.thumb.jpg.d6a3dd6f1af1a39c3a899c3e10385edf.jpg

In some of them there may be 15 rows and 15 columns. Often there are more than one odd number. Many people, including me, post their answer in the comments. I did that recently, and got this personal message:

JohnPepe1.thumb.jpg.35386283964b212d61dd06daf1f03db3.jpg

I asked what was involved in nclaiming, and he requested where I come from, my full name and phone number.I gave my suburb but not the street address. He sent these photos. If you enlarge, you will see on the bottom row a photo of a right hand drive  Range Rover.

He then said, go to FedEx on WhatsApp and complete the delivery forms. I said I don't have the WhatsApp on my phone so he said he would organise the forms and told me to wait. The next message said:

I replied

to which he replied

That's the last I heard. Maybe he was genuine, who knows. I don't need a Range Rover. US$70,000 would have been handy, but could all have been a hoax. I had fun stringing him along. I'll take my chances with Powerball.

Here's another that popped up this evening. Supposedly 19 Tesla Model X to be won. What number other than 03 is shown?

You'll have to play the game with the original poster. Uses the name Mark Hammill, but I checked the 5 Mark Hammill FB pages, and none showed the quiz.
