If you always wanted to try out a Tesla, or just try out an EV, now you can. One forward-thinking gent has started a website where you can hire EV's off private owners. You can hire nearly every current EV, from an electric Mini to top-of-the-range Tesla's.

The hire cost initially seems a little high, but I guess not having to pay for petrol or diesel mitigates that cost. Plus the free km distances seem to be generous.

You'd have to use more than $150 worth of fuel a day and live in Tas to get any benefit out of the deal. But it's a good start as people will probably hire for a day on special occasions. For that price you'd need unlimited daily klms.
