These peasant groups have always been regarded as expendable in the ruling Slavic peoples outlook. The Slavic Russians have never forgotten nor forgiven the Mongols for their rape and pillage and enslavement of the Slavic peoples under the "Tatar yoke". I don't know if it's Russian or Ukrainian, but I would guess Russian troops are more likely to let the barrel get to that stage. Of course he would refuse, the point is to show his troops what a coward he is. It will be the usual cringeworthy event with the little twerp or his body double on stage telling everyone the Special thing is all going according to plan.
