old man emu Posted Sunday at 06:45 AM Posted Sunday at 06:45 AM I once stopped that speed demon on the Hume Highway near Goulburn, bowling along at 124 kph in a 100 kph zone. He made amends for his indiscretion by stopping in a small town to speak to a Boy Scout meeting later that evening. I've got his autograph on the back of an RBT test record card. 3 1

And incidentally, do you think that correcting his 24% excessive speed actually saved any lives? 1

Maybe not on that section of the Hume Highway, but one hope that it gave him pause for thought since his wife and kids were travelling with him. nomadpete Posted Sunday at 12:31 PM Posted Sunday at 12:31 PM With best intentions, we do our best. In hopes that it helps somebody, sometime, down the track.
facthunter Posted Sunday at 10:57 PM Posted Sunday at 10:57 PM Exceeding the speed limit is voluntary in the majority of cases,, IF you ping someone who's only a bit over, you are punishing some one who is more or less, trying to do the right thing. I drive on the GPS speed. Cruise control will save money by not getting over the limit but it does use a bit more fuel. Nev

Have you ever tried to do 10 kph in a carpark? It's been said here before that trying to monitor frequent changes in speed limits is more dangerous than travelling with the flow of traffic. 1

Sometimes a drop of honey catches more flies than a gallon of vinegar. That is a strange expression, I have had an invasion of gnats in our kitchen. A quick google search on how to get rid of them gave the answer as Apple cider vinegar in a little dish with some washing up liquid. we tried it, and what do you know it worked. In the first hour they were flocking to it, and drowning quickly. since then we have found the source, a bag of lemons and limes got pushed to back of pantry at Christmas time. And disposed of it. here is a picture of the results 2
