His name is Sir Thomas Hicks.

 

That may not mean that much to you. You may know him by his stage name, Tommy Steele. 

 

The clue?    He originated the part of Kipps in Half a Sixpence in the West End and on Broadway, reprising his role in the 1967 film version.

I reckon I barely knew of any of the people posted here in their original guises, let alone when they got old and ugly. I have found it an impossible challenge.

He toured with the group Queen, after the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury. He recently (this week) appeared as a special guest on Australian Idol on Channel 7.

We have a "Queens"land in Australia but Sydney makes the Most from it. Aren't the   State Names pathetic? What IS a TAS mania.? West Australia How inspiring!. Victoria named after a Queen. NEW South Wales. How long will it be NEW?   Nev.

I saw this map while watching a video on another topic. It shows that back in the early 19th Century there was an area beside Hudson's Bay in Canada called New South Wales.
