I once listened to Edwin Lear’s son describe his role in clandestine flights to Iran, and how Reagan’s running mate, Bush senior, met the Ayatollah in Paris to do a secret deal to delay the hostage release while Carter was still President. He then flew back to the US (to make a campaign comittment) in the back sest of an SR-71.

What Nancy's psychic said was the go.  Apparently an unelected person who by definition either believes in a bunch of superstitious claptrap, or is a cynical fraudster, had a great deal of influence as they were consulted before Ronnie made any major decision.
