old man emu
I heard today (25/09) that support for the Yes vote is eroding. I don't think that is because of the advance of the No vote. I think it's because of people getting bored with waiting to vote. No doubt the majority of people have made their decision, and the numbers of those who haven't won't greatly distribution of votes either way. I'd say the undecided are a very small minority. Let's face it. Society has a very short attention span. Either that, or people settled on their response early in the campaign and want to move on to what actually impacts on their lives - things like cost of living, honesty in government. You know - all the things at the bottom of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
Popular Post facthunter
Can't we do more than one thing at a time? WE ARE lazy. Eventually we will decide just because we can't be bothered thinking about it. IF you don't Know Vote NO is designed for the can't be bothered thinking. It's all too Hard. It will probably FAIL but it won't do our standing in the world much good if we point a finger at anyone else for social Injustice in the future. It's NOT a win for Dutton nor is his campaign much to be proud of.. Nev 1

nomadpete
O M E, the widest foundation that Maslow's hierarchy pyramid rests on is labelled "Is the pub open yet"? You have to scroll right to the bottom to see it.
pmccarthy
We have yes posters everywhere, but no no posters. Shows the power of intimidation. No one is game to put up a no poster, even though the majority will vote no. 1

spacesailor
I saw one ' person ' taking those posters down & putting them in the bin , whilst I watched he stopped, then restarted after he thought I had moved on . Who gives those ' bill poster's 'the right to deface a person's business property. spacesailor
nomadpete
The topic is "The further effects of THE VOICE" Pretty obvious - the biggest further effect has been the major boost to the advertising industry.

facthunter
WHO is voting a certain way and why, is often a good Indicator of how to vote. A sort of "what Have I missed" IF THEY are voting the way they are.. Nev

facthunter
Evolution is less drama than revolution. Getting media to use facts would be a major and good change. Money Talks Democracy walks. Nev

But how can the proletariat get that knowledge if the Elite control the dissemination of knowledge? And a "revolution" without goals and aims is merely anarchy. nomadpete
Advertising is only used for the purpose of convincing people who are not thinking for themselves. If the message was simply logical, there would be no need for massive advertising. Unfortunately neither side has been very good at presenting logical simple statements. But the advertising industry is doing well from it.

Bruce Tuncks
Yesterday we saw an echidna around the house, a meaty looking slow thing with very short legs. I'm angry that blackfellows are allowed to shoot them . Personally, I reckon the use of rifles should go with whitefeller rules, and "traditional hunting rights" should mean that traditional weapons should be used. So I would restrict blackfellows to spears, and not ones with steel heads either. A pipedream? Yes, but the legislation I would like to see will be more likely to follow a "no" vote.
