facthunter Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Bought during the wool boom?? Common in Tamworth. Don't cost much to buy these days. Nev
onetrack Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I was quite surprised to see a 1987 Bentley Mulsanne at Albany W.A., advertised on FB Marketplace for just $25,000. In immaculate condition, with only 78,000kms, too. That's a cheap Bentley Mulsanne. I wondered if it was originally Paul Terrys personal transport - he was a whizz-kid in finance and sold his business "Monitor Money" in 1987 for around $50M (when $50M was really big money), just prior to the 1987 stockmarket crash, which he predicted. He retired to Albany W.A., and lived in extreme luxury and became a bit of a philanthropist, but killed himself in a helicopter crash in Hawaii on his first solo. He would've been better off staying in the finance business, he obviously wasn't cut out for a flying career. https://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/terry-paul-27662 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/491449117238739
facthunter Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Easy to kill yourself in a helicopter if you aren't taught correctly. Nev 1
Grumpy Old Nasho Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) Thanks for the reminder that helicopters are capable of crashing, lots fly over my hamlet, right this instant one is in the sky, coping with lightning strikes every few seconds. Edited January 5 by Grumpy Old Nasho 1

I have no idea why so many fly over here, this area attracts them like flies. Some are firefighters, but only when there's fires. One finished Google Earth scanning years ago when I first moved here, my house was only a blur on GE, but a week later I could see my house and vehicles clearly. I reckon the spooks wanted a better analysis of my movements. Other than those, I can only guess the rest are tour operators. Firefighter, taken from half a mile away with telephoto lens (it's much better on my screen) 1 1

red750 Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 There was a major firebombing in Nunawading in the early hours of New Years Day. It was a Forty Winks bedding store. Look at the signage on the top left of the building. I wonder how their insurance claim will go. 1
maxhr54 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Testing testing, is this thing on ? Trying out the photo feature. 2
