dazza 38 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Hard to get a straight answer or any truth. They play you. There's a bi- election in Canning, remember. Nev They like to keep the general population in a total state of confusion.
willedoo Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 They like to keep the general population in a total state of confusion. It's a fairly simple philosophy - keep them greedy and scared and they'll re-elect you.
Harry80 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 yet another aviation related thread sponsored by the arm chair commentators...
willedoo Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 yet another aviation related thread sponsored by the arm chair commentators... Sorry, I'll have to geet my eyesight tested - I could have sworn the forum heading said ' Off Topic ' Cheers, Willie
Harry80 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 It does. I always find it amusing to review these forums. Great insight into the minds of fellow RAAus flyers (good and bad)...
willedoo Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 It does. I always find it amusing to review these forums. Great insight into the minds of fellow RAAus flyers (good and bad)... And it's always good to hear armchair and non-armchair comments about armchair commentators. It provides balance.
dutchroll Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Well......political threads in off-topic forums. This site is no different from any other website which does that. And the results are much the same! I must admit to reading some "logic" on these forums which perks my curiosity though.......
facthunter Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 It takes many tonnes of dirt to get a few grammes of GOLD. Nev
Marty_d Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 It takes many tonnes of dirt to get a few grammes of GOLD. Nev Similarly - it takes many tonnes of politicians to get a few grammes of truth!
fly_tornado Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 or as Dazz wuld say "labor are just as bad as the libs"* *this is the cop out you have to use when you find out Team Australia couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery
Litespeed Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Similarly - it takes many tonnes of politicians to get a few grammes of truth! And millions of tonnes of bullshite
willedoo Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 There's been a few opinions voiced in this thread about some police being heavy handed and I guess the thread strayed a bit from the border force to police in general. Bearing in mind that every democratic society needs to be vigilant against such excesses, overall in Australia, things are pretty good in that department compared to a lot of other countries. As an example, these photos are from the demonstrations in Kiev yesterday. The first photo shows the demonstrators giving the police a bit of swish with the pepper spray. Second photo shows the police lines moments after the demonstrators lobbed a few grenades into the lines, killing one and seriously wounding about ten officers. I think Australia's still a pretty good place in regard to police and civil disturbance etc.. I hope it never gets like some of these countries. Cheers, Willie.
