Hi SR,

 

Just a quickie, since you mentioned working in Spain for a while.

 

A Rock band buddy of mine was working at a USAF base in Southern coastal Spain around 1970, his five piece rock outfit had a "four nights a week" residence at the base. The old bugger can't remember the name of the place, but one evening at dusk, the band's van was ramp loaded into a rather large aircraft and flown for around 4 hours to another base, which the crew wouldn't identify for security reasons.

 

They played their gig there, and then were loaded onto to the aircraft and flown back. . .the same night.

 

He said he thought the place they played at seemed to be "underground" and he still has no idea of where they were taken ! Germany maybe ?

 

Probably still classified !
