onetrack
Paris was full of those leaning trikes with the dual front wheels when I was there in 2010. I don't know how the mechanism stands up to the constant wear of turning and suspension action.

facthunter
Once one slips the others load is doubled You were talking about the front wheel sliding out which is usually the worst case. Nev

Nev not necessarily, your missing out on weight transference during cornering. the load on the inside wheel will be greater then the outside wheel. and depending on the stage through the corner either the front (entry) or rear (exit) will be loaded differently too. facthunter
If you look carefully from the front the wheels are at the same angle to the road as it would be if there was only one and the centre of the weight remains at the middle of the two front wheels if you project the alignment of the steering. Both at the same angle and carrying equal weight till one slips. and then the other has the lot. facthunter
There's an error there, Sorry the more compressed leg would put a bit more force on the road if we need to adjust for everything. I definitely prefer a NORMAL set up. I can't see this arrangement being on the race track, soon.. Nev

onetrack
Plenty of cheap parts for VeeDubs, especially in places like South America. I hate to think what Beemer or Harley parts cost there.
facthunter
IF you've had much experience with VWee's of that era, you wouldn't say they were reliable.. The very early ones were OK 36Hp. Nev

facthunter
Well you don't have siamesed ports to start with. with the twin but I'd be sceptical of 40 HP without a fair bit of development. and capacity increase.. Nev
