Today I had a new "thats doing well in life" moment, sending parts to a customer, got his address.... If yoiu use iether and a postcode, the letter will get to you. Often postcodes cover one or a small handful of houses, too.. and they aren't mansions. Not one place in our village has a street number. My house name is The Old Rectory; the two br barn converion on our title is The Old Meeting House. My inlaw's house name is.. drum roll please..... My sister's gate is 210 metres from the intersection of her road and the highway, so her address is 21. The post lady (couldn't bring myself to call her a post mistress) handed the letter to me when I stopped there to buy a bottle of wine. The public servants in Canberra are so utterly useless today, they sent me a 50th Vietnam War anniversary medallion with only my first name on the address label. However, the public servants did manage to get my address correct. The medallion was duly delivered - but because I wasn't home on the day and couldn't sign for it, it was sent to my LPO for pickup, and a "failed delivery" note left. During that exercise, the delivery person stuck a big re-delivery label, right over the top of my address! It was extremely difficult to peel this second label off to find the addressee, because AP labels are designed not to come off! Despite all that, the local LPO operators (who are Indians!), managed to successfully find my parcel, when I arrived to pick it up! Mr. Joe Blow, Unit 3, 27 Particular Street Hometown Vic. 3888 You don't even get a missed item card. You need to have the Aus Post app so they can send you a text advising where you can coect the item. From overseas to Australia & that's were it missing. . But it's a bit unfair to blame Aust Post for stuff that goes missing in other countries.
