pmccarthy Posted October 31 Posted October 31 A man was banging on the door of a cheap brothel. The door was opened by a chinaman who said “quid pro quo”.
old man emu Posted October 31 Posted October 31 A bloke wants something more for his quid than some old crow.
facthunter Posted October 31 Posted October 31 They ALL say that. I've been reliably informed they ALL look good through the bottom of a beer glass. Champagne (Giggle Juice) is made so UGLY blokes can get Laid. THIS is supposed to be a Positive thread. Nev 1
old man emu Posted October 31 Posted October 31 For the past six weeks NSW tax dollars have been at work remaking 2 kms of the highway beside my place. Amazingly, they said that they would be doing the work from 16 Sept to 31 October. Today the traffic control people pulled down the multitude of warning signs, packed them up and disappeared into the desert sands. Job finished on schedule. While I'm happy for their success, I'm also happy that I'll no longer be woken at 7:00 am by the beeping of their machinery. Also I'll no longer be held up a hundred metres from my gate by traffic controllers.
Popular Post facthunter Posted October 31 Popular Post Posted October 31 Another bit of good news My NEW KNEE is now capable of a single leg stand up. I haven't been able to do that since I was about 30..Nev 3 1 2
facthunter Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Thanks red. I think it's pretty amazing. I'm going to do a bit more for the rest of me, now. Nev

Nev Don't get your hopes up, Nev. Just because they can did that the for a knee, doesn't mean they'll do it for a hundred other failing joints
facthunter Posted October 31 Posted October 31 I'm the one who built up the strength. It won't happen if you don't put the work in and it also has to heal. Not all oldies heal well. Nev 1
spacesailor Posted October 31 Posted October 31 When I met my wife , my bragging, was 15 ' knee- bends ' doesn't sound much untill you do each leg , making 30 total . Leg strength from wishing to walk . spacesailor
rgmwa Posted October 31 Posted October 31 I can do the bend no problem. It's getting up again that I struggle with.
spacesailor Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Not to worry . I can't do them either . Even my ' pushups ' are getting hard to do lately . The stretch in the mornings is good , then I get out of bed . LoL spacesailor
facthunter Posted October 31 Posted October 31 It's a balance between maintaining strength and not straining or injuring yourself in the Process. Unused muscles atrophy fast. If you lose weight too fast you can lose muscle mass.. If you are weakened enough you are prone to injury. OLD age is not a promotion I didn't bid for it and I wasn't trained for it. Your Health is more important than almost anything else. Nev 1
spacesailor Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I , on the other-hand , couldn't wait for that ' magical ' 65th retirement birthday . With that presentation clock . spacesailor
old man emu Posted November 1 Posted November 1 25 minutes ago, spacesailor said: With that presentation clock . That's irony. All your working life you are being controlled by the hands of the clock. Wake-up time; sign-on time; smoko time; lunch time; knock-off time; dinner time; bed time. Then you reach retirement age when those things don't matter any more, but they give you a bloody timepiece so you can still know what time it is. 1

facthunter Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Retirement is the end of "meanfullness" an identity and complete loss of routine. for many people. Nev
spacesailor Posted November 2 Posted November 2 (edited) Retirement! . The new life to chase those dreams . And make them reality. That a working person only wishes for . SO , Do not dream so long , you will be old & cranky. Your legs will betray your mind as you climb Aiers rock. spacesailor PS. : has many on here climbed the rock, that was a book & film . " picnic at hanging rock " . Done that . Edited November 2 by spacesailor PS added
