United States, Where do you go now?

I incorrectly said earlier that Trump doesn't have what we would call a political platform - a statement of the things he would do if elected. We've seen what a platform is with Dutton's nuclear idea and Albo's Nett zero.

Where I was incorrect was that I was not aware of the content of Project 2025. It is a manifesto that would leave Hitler's Mein Kampf  choking in the dust miles behind. What it outlines is a plan to turn the USA into a country where life would be worse than the worst of any fundamentalist Islamic country.

He personally doesn’t have much of a platform beyond closing the border, drilling for oil snd gas, cutting taxes for the rich, slapping tariffs on the rest of the world and going after his enemies. He claims he doesn’t know anything about Project 2025 but then contradicts himself by saying he doesn’t agree with a lot of it. The bigger long term threat is from those pushing Project 2025, many of whom used to work for him in the previous administration and are a lot smarter and more disciplined than he is. The Supreme Court’s decision to cut the President loose from accountability is part of the same Republican philosophy of centralising power in a single authority.

The biggest problem with Trump being re-elected, is that it enable a whole bunch of rabid right wing fundamentalists to get promoted into positions of power, merely by licking Trumps arse and getting his approval.

I can see the U.S. Courts becoming clogged with cases examining the true meaning and breadth of the word "official" when it comes to Trumps orders. As he will hold absolute power when re-elected, he will claim anything he chooses to do or order is an "official" act.

The only thing in a legal sense that will be able to stop it is the Supreme Court willing to declare that the office holder of the presidency is invalid at the requisite time and the military's preparedness to act to evict the trespasser. However, will the Supreme Court actually find the presidency invalid at the requisite time? And if so, will the military be prepared to act in what could be considered a military coup (or painted like one regardless of the legal position).

Of course, this is when the second amendment does come into play: the right to bear arms against an oppressive government.. Democratic leaning people also have guns... so it will be time to pull up a chair, grab some popcorn and watch the show.

Trump has access to the Big red Button and He's a Barking at the Moon Madman seeking to eliminate anyone who he doesn't like and HE has a lot of trigger happy Nut jobs who will aid him at the drop of a hat. USA is facing the real prospect of a physical Civil war  which the Republican Party have  aided and abetted.. What a Great Example to the world of how to run a Country?  Nev

It seems that Trump's mob took some lessons out of Afghanistan from the Taliban - those on how to suppress women.

It stuns me that MAGA females would not support the very basic right to handling one's own body. Taken to the absurd, women should not be permitted to use cosmetics; have their hair styled, or follow fashion. Does it mean that when in public they should be covered head to toe as women in certain non-Christian countries must?

If Biden wants a landslide victory, all he has to do is to urge women to vote simply to ensure they retain this control over themselves.

DOG tells these women to vote for Trump. There's over 100 Million Pentecostals in the USA. That's not a Christian Religion. It's the Capitalists CULT, tailor made for the filthy rich to justify their greed.  The USA has always been a prime place for crazy cults.   Nev

Google searches for Project 2025 now exceed Taylor Swift and NFL Football.

That's a good thing. At least the voters can see what it contains and think how it will affect each of them. I wonder how many women will cast their vote based on what Project 2025 would mean to their say over their own body.

The scariest part of Trumps agenda is the loonies he's enabling to wage war on civilians just doing their job. People such as Ivan Raiklin, a deranged thug who is a retired Lt Colonel and Green Beret, and who claims to be a "Constitutional lawyer".

The problem is, Raiklin is nothing more than a thug threatening to hunt down and kill his political "enemies".

He's right out of the mold of the "Posse Comitatus" followers, constantly using the extreme right wing keywords, such as "tyranny", "deep state", "patriot", "self-determination", Christian Identity, etc, etc. He's a spreader of hatred and racism and incitement to murder.

Of all the people supporting Trump, he and his like are a major worry, because they would be happy to incite civil war as a method to ensure they gained absolute control of the country.

I think we have to ask ouraselves where have our pollies, and society failed so miserably, that a decent majority of people, most of whom have a brain, are desperate enough to align themselves with hate and division to their own detriment? What could we all have done better, and why didn't we?

In the end, although we're all inhabitants of planet Earth (which would be worse off under a Trump US presidency), at least we're not IN the US.

So I see this whole situation as a wake-up call for democracies all over the world.  We need more involvement of the populace in government, not less.  Better education in civics, ethics and law.

Make your vote be an informed one or you'll end up not having a vote and being on Trumps LIST of who to GET back at and have to leave the Country IF He doesn't kick you out already.. Get ready to kiss R's OR go missing. Like Russia.   Nev

Americas problem is worship of money and allowing the rich to run the country, thus defeating all their so-called democracy. Most of the U.S. population only rates as modern day peasants, although some may like to think they have some wealth. The real wealth and power resides in the mega-millionaires, and now mega-billionaires. They have ensured total warpage of their economic system to ensure they continue to get richer and richer and more and more powerful.

Trump has managed to get his US$450M bond requirement, that is required to appeal against his NY court judegment, down to US$175M. And that US$175M has now been "provided" by a little known insurance company, Knight Speciality Insurance Group, based in the Cayman Islands.

The Knight Group has offered a "bond" for the money - but the Cayman Islands company and financial systems are notorious for impenetrable "security", which ensures criminals, mobsters and drug lords can use the Cayman company structures to ensure they run their finances without any scrutiny by authorities from other countries seeking to uncover criminal activity and major tax evasion.

It's highly likely the Knight Group is a MAGA or Trump "front", and even more likely they don't have the $US$175M available to them to pay the money, and even less likely that any U.S. legal authority could ever collect the money in the event of a Knight Group default.

SCOTUS has struck again. It recently overturned a 1984  Supreme Court decision that held that a court must accept the interpretation of a government agency's interpretation of a rule when the rule is challenged.

What SCOTUS has done is to say that the only people who can interpret a rule are the elected officials who make the laws and rules. That means that the interpretation of a ;ae ow rule by your typical politician, who is not likely to have expert knowledge of a subject relating to the rule, is to be taken over those government employees who have the training and expertise in the subject. Imagine relying on Mr Albanese, or Mr Dutton to interpret CASA's pilot medical rules. Can you imagine how taking the making of proposed rules from the experts could undermine the good governance of the USA.

This video deals with the Supreme Court's ruling in light of motor vehicles. It mentions EVs and emission control and fuel consumption requirements. I ask you not to drift off into the EV debate, but simply listen to what is said regarding rule making and if you like, apply what is said to one of your activities.

WARNING: I think the presenter is a bit anti-EV and nett zero, but you can ignore that if you just follow the trend of her presentation.

Does this pave the way for the new Pres to save gazillions of dollars that is presently being wasted by the entire legal system?

All you need is a thumbs up, or thumbs down by the pres.

Judge Judy will be out of a job and Donny can rule over any disputes. Or perhaps he'll simply overrule the law.
