Trump could illegally sell military secrets to Putin and quietly pocket the cash, but because dealing with foreign leaders is part of his core duties he couldn't be prosecuted. That's how ridiculous the SC ruling is.

the Supreme court ruling the president could be absolved of almost all criminal liability during office,

Didn't they decide that such absolution only applied to acts done or not done that related to the actual functions of the presidency, and that the hush money matter was a function of a private citizen, even though it sought to affect the outcome of an election?

That's what the prosecution is arguing, but Trump's lawyers are disputing that of course. The judge has postponed his sentencing decision.

There's been talk of felons not being able to be president circulating on social media but I don't think there's anything in the constitution to stop it. The requirements for a candidate are: must be a natural-born citizen of the U.S., must be at least 35 years old and must have been a resident of the U.S. for 14 years. Trump's problem is that under the constitution a president can only grant pardons for federal crimes and not state crimes, so he can't pardon himself and clear his record.

A few days ago I watched a video listed things like being a convicted felon, a bankrupt etc as being bars to holding the office of President, but I can't find it in my History. The ironic thing was that the person reading the list was from Trump's party, but I think the content was made may years ago

In better news today, the Onion has bought Jones Infowars site at a liquidation auction and plans to turn it into a parody site. Jones is mouthing off and raging - good result for the lying, foamy-mouthed feral, that he is.

True justice would be Jones family being massacred by a gun nutter, and then everyone could say he faked it for money.

Ex-Trump officials 'apply for foreign citizenship' as they finalize plans to flee: report

Multiple people who worked for President-elect Donald Trump's first administration are making plans to flee the country for fear that he might target them once he retakes power in January.

The Washington Post reports that a retired U.S. Army officer who clashed with Trump officials, a member of Trump's first administration who has publicly denounced him, and a former United States intelligence official are all making plans to flee to foreign nations ahead of Trump's second inauguration.
