red750 Posted Friday at 11:54 PM Posted Friday at 11:54 PM Not Trump, but a result of the election result. Nine male GOP members have been served divorce papers since the election, citing the result according to the Washington Post. This may be because of a fear that the Trump Congress may remove no cause divorce. 1 1

onetrack Posted Sunday at 01:16 AM Posted Sunday at 01:16 AM Below is a good outline of what could happen under Trump's chaotic and self-serving economic policies, in the next 4 years. What staggers me, is the Republicans rage on about the level of U.S. Govt debt, but it will only get worse under Trumps leadership. It's a real elephant in the room, that will have to be addressed before it creates havoc with the U.S. economy - and a lower standard of living for all Americans. https://www.smh.com.au/business/markets/rampant-us-dollar-sends-a-threatening-message-to-the-rest-of-the-world-20241114-p5kqi2.html https://www.pgpf.org/national-debt-clock#:~:text=The %2435 trillion gross federal,to measure our national debt.

red750 Posted Sunday at 07:20 AM Posted Sunday at 07:20 AM ‘He’s like the sleeper’: Lara Trump details Barron’s influence over his father Lara Trump has shared details of how Barron influenced his father – and said the teenager should be given “serious credit” for his role in getting Donald Trump reelected. Trump’s daughter-in-law, who is married to Eric, gushed about 18-year-old Barron on Patrick Bet-David’s podcast, explaining that the NYU student stayed in the shadows when it came to the 2024 presidential campaign. “Barron Trump is so cool. He’s like the sleeper a little bit. He’s kind of stayed out of the spotlight, probably intentionally,” she said. Read more here
red750 Posted Sunday at 07:24 AM Posted Sunday at 07:24 AM Barron for president in 2044? Why Trump dynasty may look to youngest son American presidents must be citizens, born in the US, a resident in the country for 14 years, and at least 35 years of age. Barron William Trump was born in Florida on 20 March 2006. He is the only child of Melania and Donald Trump, who has fathered four other children by his two previous wives. Barron has lived between Florida, New York City and Washington DC all his life. He qualifies as a potential POTUS - except for his age - the 18-year-old was only a first-time voter this November. The pair became strong allies during the election campaign and the billionaire was made co-chief of the 'Department of Government Efficiency'. The Tesla and SpaceX boss even shelled out hundreds of millions of dollars to bolster Trump's campaign. Read more here 1

onetrack Posted Sunday at 09:28 AM Posted Sunday at 09:28 AM Of course you expect others to work for nothing when you're worth $300B. That's part of how he got so rich - as well as rorting people with his corporate charges. I like this comment I saw on Bluesky - "Free speech is a beautiful thing, but when a billionaire thinks his voice is more valuable than yours, and steps on your opinion using their vast wealth, it creates an inequality that we really need to address."
red750 Posted Sunday at 10:38 AM Posted Sunday at 10:38 AM Trump taps oil executive Chris Wright as Energy secretary President-elect Donald Trump named oil industry CEO Chris Wright to lead the Energy Department, installing a vocal critic of government efforts to fight climate change as the head of the agency at the forefront of the Biden administration’s clean energy push. Wright, if confirmed by the Senate, is likely to be one of the loudest voices in the administration against measures to curb greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of fossil fuels that are raising the planet’s temperature and causing an upsurge in extreme weather. He’d be charged with fulfilling Trump’s campaign promise to claw back billions of dollars in funding supporting the Biden administration’s climate and energy agenda — and restarting the department’s issuance of natural gas export permits that had been paused by President Joe Biden early this year. rgmwa Posted Sunday at 11:28 AM Posted Sunday at 11:28 AM As expected, unfortunately. Global warming concerns don't bother Trump, and if can drill for oil and gas and roll back Biden's plans at the same time then it's an even bigger win as far as he's concerned. He's just doing what he said he was going to do. Hopefully, he'll be as incompetent this time as he was last time and come unstuck. 1 1
old man emu Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM Author Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM You can see Trump and Musk falling out over tariffs on Chinese goods, especially on EVs. Musk is pretty tight with the Chinese buying vehicle components and selling completed vehicles. He won't like politics getting in the way of business, but isn't getting government hands off business a central tenet of Trump's political philosophy? 1
