Donald Trump has formed a powerful alliance with the wealthiest man in the world, but an analyst explained why the two men are unlikely to split anytime soon.

 

The president-elect has been palling around with Tesla CEO Elon Musk after the tech mogul poured hundreds of millions of dollars into his election win, and while many observers are waiting for Trump to eject his so-called co-president from his orbit, CNN's Stephen Collinson said he can't really afford to quit him.

  

"He's putting himself in iconic situations, you know, he's standing there yesterday with his chin in the air, watching this rocket go up almost like there was some credit to accrue to him for the Elon Musk [achievement], and I guess he was basking in reflected glory because Musk is now part of his inner circle," Collinson said. "I think there's been a lot of talk about, okay, this is all going to blow up, right – they can't stick together."

 

The South Africa-born tech mogul has been described as a shadow president, since he's prohibited from running himself, and has been advising Trump closely since the election and sticking by his side at Mar-a-Lago, and on Tuesday the pair watched Musk's SpaceX launch its giant Starship rocket to space from Texas.

 

Trump is hanging around with the richest man in the world. He is a force multiplier in terms of power. He's a massive non-state actor, and I'm sure when Trump was watching that rocket go up, not only was he impressed, but he had to be thinking about Musk's power."

I can't see Trump's new best friend sticking around for long. Mixing two fragile egos like theirs is like mixing oil and water. There is a lot of difference between them though. Trump is very much a people person and thrives on socialising whereas Musk is very socially disfunctional.

Trump admires Musk because he has the MOST money of any person in the world - and he recognises the POWER that comes with that wealth - and he's currently in awe of it.

But there'll come a time, probably not too far off, when he starts to see Musk becoming a real threat to HIS power, and then Musk will be cast out of the LOYAL followers.

It was said that Joe was just a mouthpiece for minders behind the scene who made the decisions, Stories on the net suggesting that much of the BS from Trump is being fed to him by Musk, Barron T and others. and that Musk has made himself almost a defacto president. Apparently the Dept of Gov't Efficiency (DOGE) is Musks baby.

 

Musk is now launching the Tesla phone, claimed to put iPhone out of business. Communication via satellite, charging from sunlight and controlling everything in your house for US$299.

Police report reveals new details from sexual assault allegation against Trump’s defense secretary nominee

 

A California woman told police that Trump Cabinet pick Pete Hegseth physically blocked her from leaving a hotel room, took her phone, and then sexually assaulted her even though she “remembered saying ‘no’ a lot,” a police report obtained by CNN shows.

 

The 22-page report, released by the city attorney’s office of Monterey, California, on Wednesday night in response to a public records request, lays out the competing narratives of what happened in new detail – including conflicting accounts of how intoxicated Hegseth and the woman were, and descriptions of video surveillance showing some of their movements that night.

 

Hegseth, who President-elect Donald Trump has named as his pick for secretary of defense, told police that their encounter was consensual, and that he had repeatedly made sure the woman “was comfortable with what was going on between the two of them.”

 

Seven years after the alleged assault, questions over what happened that night could jeopardize Hegseth’s nomination and seem likely to be central in his upcoming confirmation hearing.

 

Hegseth was not charged with a crime in connection with the allegation. His attorney has acknowledged that Hegseth later entered into a settlement agreement with his accuser that included an undisclosed monetary payment and a confidentiality clause. Though Hegseth insisted the encounter was consensual, the lawyer said he was fearful that the woman was poised to make an allegation against him during the #MeToo movement that might have cost him his job as a Fox News host.

 

“This police report confirms what I’ve said all along, that the incident was fully investigated, and police found the allegations to be false, which is why no charges were filed,” Timothy Parlatore, Hegseth’s attorney, told CNN on Wednesday night – although the report does not say that police found the allegations to be false.
